Surprised!
I have only used it one time so far and seems to be working great. I purchased the 1” gun last year, wow!…..it has been working perfectly, very powerful, takes off even the tightest wheel nuts ( make sure air supply is adequate and air hose is at least 1/2”). I have been buying. Ingersoll ran products for the last 28 years and this blows them away. Aircat just got a repeat customer.

Low CFM
my shop only has 3/8 air line but they run higher psi than normal this is the only 3/4 gun i could find that will run better than ok on a 3/8 air line and 1/4 nipple

Powerful impact
It certainly has more torque then my Ingersoll Rand..

It’s okay
Writing this review after 5 months of use.The power of it is very good. Works as well as the 1770XL aircat gun. Has a slightly smaller profile which is nice for storage and use. The retainer ring in the anvil would not hold a socket from the beginning which is very annoying. Constantly chasing sockets when I use it for a tire gun. The forward and reverse selection is in a fairly bad spot having to constantly readjust grip in order to change directions. It also gets in the way of the grip making it so it will sometimes be moved while in use. The trigger will sometimes turn while in use and will get stuck so it has to be disconnected from air to stop it spinning while I put the trigger back in place. I can also feel an air leak starting under the rubber of the grip while it’s in use.I was buying the 1770’s but they had a problem with the air intake just breaking off between the roll pins at the bottom that secured it. I went through 2 in one year. I will update this review when I have to replace this one.I’m a mechanic who uses this gun at least once per day as a tire gun for semi trucks and trailers. It has also been used for tight spaces on yoke nuts and other things where a 1” gun won’t fit. It does very heavy use some days and could be the cause of it wearing out so quickly.

Searching for a 3/4 gun stop looking
Purchased the 1778vxl after searching around for a gun that would compete with my coworkers cornwell cat3125 3/4 gun with 1800ftlbs torque that seems to be the top pick with heavy duty techs i have worked with. Where to start with but WOW does this thing have power for the money. The 1778vxl has no problem going head to head with the cat3125 and for about 300 dollars less then cornwell what a steal. If your looking to purchase a 3/4 gun stop looking and just buy the aircat you won't find a better power to cost ratio. The grip and the trigger fit good into the hand and make it easy to hold and control the gun while using. The only small complaint I have which is not a big deal but the nose cone of the gun is slightly bigger then the cornwell by maybe 1/4 inch which could be I have the rubber boot on mine. It makes it just slightly hard getting off drive wheels off semi trucks. The gun doesn't clear the axle cleanly like i wish it would but a short extension would fix the issue though. Great impact for the price its a must have

This thing is nicknamed THE BEAST at my shop!!!
I've put this up against every other brand of 3/4 in my shop. Snap-On, Matco, Cornwell, and Ingersoll and has smoked all the competition. My guys will be like "Dude nothing will take this off/make it any tighter", and I'll be like wanna bet, and bring out the BEAST and blow their minds. Definitely worth the money and by far way cheaper, quieter, stronger(it's got the whole can of beans), and less vibration. It surprised everyone by it's small size, but don't let that fool you!

AirCat? This thing is a HellCat!
The media could not be loaded. I ran this off my semi air tank using 3/8 npt / 3/8 body connectors from Grainger not that 1/4 stuff but man this thing unleashed hell on those bolts. I only recommend this tool if you're changing semi tires or doing some heavy duty work. Anything other than that you will start breaking off bolts. Ima give it a 5 star because its more compact and powerful than the competitors. My only con about this tool is the control switch on the side. I don't like it. Its too easy to move. The 2 forward modes feel like it has the same power. I'm more of a fan of the Ingersoll Rand controls.

Best 3/4 gun I ever owned
I have owned many 3/4 guns over my 21 years as a diesel tech. This is easily my favorite one. I do not use for wheels since I'm an engine guy but if you know anything about torque turns this thing has no problem doing the 160 degree turn after a 150 ftbs. Also did the 90-degree after 300 ftbs no problem.

Impressed with the power
Light weight easy on arms. The forward reverse lever is a bit awkward to get at with gloves on but not a big deal. I was impressed with the power. Big difference comparded to my 1000 ft lb impact.

quiet, powerful and lightweight
i am a heavy duty diesel tech and work on garbage trucks. i use mine for taking off and putting on wheels and it does this with great ease. it is very lightweight and quiet. the guys in the shop cannot get over how quiet it is compared to the snap on guns they have and yet still just as powerful at a fraction of the cost.
