Simply Scandalous (The House of Pleasure Book 9)

Took two stars off, because I found this in the "paranormal" section... None of the "Simply xxx" series has any paranormal element in them, and aren't, strictly speaking, Victorian, either, though I don't take stars off, being Recency period...Amazon needs to start policing the posting to section of the publishers ,otherwise the categories will mean nothing!

Quite a different plot. All the characters were quite different and enjoyably different. Looking forward to reading all the books

I gave this book a three star rating because of the romantic subplot between Emily and Ambrose. I wasn't expecting to love their story so much, but it was great. I could have read an entire book about them. That story was far more interesting than the main story. I loved this series, and I own every book in it. Some of the books weren't so great, but some were so spectacular. With this book, I found myself skipping through anything that mentioned Richard or Violet. I thought skipping around caused me to lose some vital information as some characters seem to just fall off the map. I'm sure the intention was to leave to their fate a mystery for the new series, but it seemed more like they were forgotten. If you want to know how this series ends, read it.

I am sad to see the end of this series. I rather enjoyed the secondary characters as away to round out the story. The author always does a great job of the suspense. This was just not my favorite book of the series. I come to think of these books as taboo, but this lacked some of the spice.

I love everything Kate writes. Thanks Kate for being the wonderful writer that you are. Not many can write to hold my interest book/ story after book / story the way you can.

Love this series from Kate Pearce.

This was by far the best book so far in the series! It wrapped everything into a nice tidy package by the end.

"Simply Scandaloiur" Anther great book by Ms Pearce, I only hope there are many more to come. This series has been a wonderful group of books!

I've read all the house of pleasure books and is quite sad that the series come to an end. How I loved them all and this last book is no exception. The reason for this is spelled EMILY! Even though Richard and Violet are the main caracters in this book (and I loved their story) it's Emilys story that made it for me. She mad me laugh and she made me wish Everything would work out for her. When she and Jack teamed up together I laughed so much at places I couldn't keep reading for a while.

I do not consider this book to be the best of the Pleasure House series, although it was good to have some loose ends tied up. The love story of Emily and Ambrose was actually more interesting and engaging. However, I thoroughly enjoyed most of the books in the series.

It was an okay read, i felt it could have been better in terms of story line. Maybe the next book in the series will have some of the great storyline and intimacy.
