Broke my last company's lever 2 times. (They did warranty it.) But I wanted something that wasn't pot metal and gonna break again...In comes the Iron Ape stainless steel lever. It is heavy duty. Fit the belt perfect. I highly doubt this will break dropping in on the ground after a heavy set.The price point is a bit high, but you get what you pay for.

Been powerlifting for just a short 4-5 years, been through one belt (was smelly so I washed the leather, which is a no-no, oops) and on my second belt now. However, the pins holding the lever on my 2nd belt kept sliding down/out (I think the belt came stock with the 'Contraband' brand lever I see elsewhere on Amazon, it looks identical) but the leather is still good. I got this buckle since the pins are covered so that can't happen.When this Iron Ape buckle arrived, I was really impressed. It's nearly exactly the same size but almost twice as heavy as the cheap lever-buckle its replacing, so I'm thinking it's gotta be made of steel as advertised. Production quality is awesome and the lever action is quite tight. I don't know if that's because I got so used to my crappy loose one or if this Iron Ape lever will loosen a bit over time.NOTE: The hook and support prongs that 'grab' the other side of the belt are just a smidge longer than the old Contraband-brand lever buckle it's replacing. Was worried it would be an issue but it works great, no problems.

I am a bigger guy and my last clasp broke. They sent me this one and it has held up. It's very thick, sturdy and durable.

I found myself in a jam with a broken buckle on my belt and needed to get something before the replacement was shipped from my belt manufacturer. I chose to pay extra, in hopes that it was actually an indicator of quality. This buckle is awful. It doesn't close completely, sticks in the open position, the teeth that hook under the holes on the other side of the belt are way too deep causing it to get stuck. Maybe they should spend less on the package and more on creating a quality product.

Definitely a solid lever buckle. Weights about 3 lbs but a much stronger alternative to the cast levers. Hopefully it won’t break into pieces after a year of dropping my belt. It fits the lever belt from Schiek.

Well put together worth the money

Was super excited for this lever to arrive. I ordered a cheapy $20 one from a different company as a fallback, and ponied up for Iron Ape's $45 one (roughly half the price of a brand new Inzer belt, for context). The cheap one arrived in perfect condition and the Iron Ape lever arrived with a crack right down the middle. Super bummed and hoping someone makes this right as I am planning on making custom powerlifting belts and to use these ones for them, but now, not so much....

DO NOT BUY!!! I hate to spend money on something that’s supposed to be a premium product but because of poor engineering falls short. Lever was stuck right out of the box and wouldn’t open. Buy something else.
