Simple Fix for a Broken Deadlatch, Quick Replacement, Works Like a Charm
My old deadlatch suddenly broke, leaving me with a non-locking front door (sometimes non-opening). I needed a quick replacement and figured I wouldn't find the exact match at my local hardware store. Luckily, I found this Kwikset here on Amazon in the right finish and ordered it immediately.Installation was easy and took about 5 minutes. The catch setting had it on the shorter setting than my original deadlatch but quick adjustment to switch it over to the longer setting and everything worked perfectly.Thanks to it being adjustable to the two most common configurations I found it to be an exact match. Kwikset used higher-quality materials, it's a functional replacement. Exact fit
Kwikset's products are high quality, but they do wear out. The plastic wear strike on the latch broke from the latch, creating a gap on this exterior door. Replacing just the 82247-15 was the perfect solution.

It works!
I have a Kwikset entry set on my front door that had a bad latch. This was an exact replacement and it works well. The door easily opens and closes properly without catching, pulling or pushing.

Works great with existing handle
My door latch would not pull back all the way and could not open the door sometimes. An areas gets wore out and does not retract. I replaced the cylinder, this is a prefect fit. Door open easy now and latch retracts all the way now. Cheap fix vs a new handle set.

Worked perfectly to replace a Weiser.
It fit precisely including the size of the door plate. It was plug and play.While i’m generally pretty handy I have zero experience with door locks. In this case I had to figure out how to make the latch fully extend - at first it looked too short. A slight push of a small pin release a spring and the thing popped open to the exact length I needed.

Vida nueva para la chapa
Busque la pieza en home depot en méxico y me dijeron que tendria que cambiar toda la chapa, pues no se vendían sueltas, la pedí por Amazon y yo solo pude reemplazar la pieza y funciona como nueva, esperemos dure otros ocho años.
