Cat owners take heart - chew-resistant wires!
I've lost count of the number of sleep-headband headphones (CozyPhones, SleepPhones, etc.) I've gone through thanks to my cat's insatiable appetite for the cloth-jacketed wires those headphones use. She won't touch normal rubber-jacketed wires, but something about the texture of the cloth coating is like kitty super-crack to her.I've tried the wireless Bluetooth variants but the rapidly-waning battery life coupled with the jarring "YOUR DEVICE IS CONNECTED" and "YOUR HEADSET IS DISCONNECTED" signals that disregard volume settings and jar you awake just as you're drifting off make the BT models an unworkable solution. I've tried diligently wrapping my headphones up in a drawstring bag every morning when I wake up, which worked for a while until one night she just chewed them up in my sleep. I've tried dipping the wire in bittering anti-chew spray, but have fun with that when you accidentally get the wire in your own mouth as you roll over on it in the middle of the night. It was a long-running game of cat and mouse (no pun intended) and I was losing badly, to the tune of $20 or more per pair of headphones she ruined.Enter these little bad-boys. They do the same thing the original speakers do: sit flat and output sound. The kicker, though, is that the wire is thicker and uses a different coating from the OEM speakers. Still cloth, but coarser and heavier. Enough so that my cat has no interest in them. I've left them sitting out on the bed, no drawstring bag, for weeks and she wants nothing to do with them. You're not going to get B&W or Paradigm or Klipsch quality sound out of these and they're not going to blow you away, which is probably a good thing since you're ostensibly wearing these to go to sleep. For the price, they work and sound great - indistinguishable, to the best of my ability to tell, from the original speakers. They're stereo headphones with a bog-standard 3.5mm connector, tried-and-true, nothing fancy to go wrong, age-old technology that's had all its bugs hammered out decades ago. Plus, if my little gremlin does eventually develop a taste for them, they're much less expensive to replace and you can keep using the same cloth headband. These are a no-brainer.

So thin you can put them on the top of the pillow!
I've been using pillow speakers for years, always underneath the pillow. Sound quality suffered...With these, they are only 3 or so mm thick, they're flexible and soft so you can put them on top of the pillow (inside the pillow cover). Sound quality much better -- surprising for the small size. They're quite sensitive to small movements of the ear -- a few millimeters away from the center of the speaker, and you hear less...a few more millimeters and you hear nothing.I've used these for about 4 months, so far no problems. They aren't super heavy duty, but that's the way it has to be for something as slim and light as these.

I stuck them in my pillow case
I like to sleep with the TV on. My wife doesn't. For years I've slept with a wired ear bud connected to my Roku remote. So uncomfortable! Plus my Dr said I need to stop putting things in my ears if I don't want them to itch. These are working pretty well. I still run them out of my Roku remote * slide them inside my pillow case. Under the pillow I couldn't hear, but with a thin layer of fabric they're good as long as I turn up the volume and lay pretty much directly on them (I sleep on my side). Soft enough that usually I can't feel them. Plus they're cheap enough to replace when needed.

Thin, Soft Speakers for Sleep with Some Issues
Purchased as a replacement for the original speakers in my sleep headband, the Sleep Ultra Thin Pillow Speakers from MMUS are thinner and more comfortable than those original speakers. The cords have an attractive black and white wrap and arrived with many bends, due to being folded up to fit in a small plastic case. These bends slowly went away, though the actual cord soon began to come through on both the right and left speaker portions. While the foam is larger in diameter than the openings on my headband, the cushion is larger than the actual speaker and flexible enough to make them fit through. Having the blue and black sides made it easier to ensure that the speaker side would end up facing my ears.I am pleased with the sound quality and compatibility with my Kindle Fire, which I use to listen to audiobooks or music to help mask my tinnitus and help me fall asleep. I’ve used them in my sleep headband and, in warmer weather, tucked between the top of my pillow and my pillowcase. When using them without the headband I do find that I wish the volume of the speakers was not lower than my kindle.Seven months of nightly use now and suddenly one of the speakers is no longer working. I’ve also just discovered that the speakers are slightly magnetic, which I find curious. With the reasonable price point, and considering that they may be getting rougher treatment than I am aware of in my sleep, I am thinking about ordering second pair soon.

Low low volume
The volume is too low to be a pillow speaker. I thought I could put this under my pillow and hear through the pillow avoiding being tangled or irritated by cables. To make this work you would have to tape it down to the top of your pillow but the quality of the sound is much less than a cheap tweeter. After maxing the volume on my iPhone I would describe this product as the guts of a mid quality headset without the housing to be up against your ears and bring the sound range.

Thin, comfortable and improves sleep
Very thin, mostly comfortable and really helps me fall asleep faster. The cord does wear out every few months but for $10 it is worth every penny in getting extra sleep. I slide them in between my ears and my full face mulberry eye mask that I purchased on Amazon also.
