If you're into cast iron cooking - or just great fill your gut and please your taste buds cooking - this is a great book to latch onto. Lots of variety, recipes from Breakfast to Dessert. Complex to simple choices. One caveat: As to be expected in this type of cookbook, there are no gluten free or dairy free options. If you have someone in your circle who has issues you will need to know how to make substitutions.

This book has some of the most beautiful outdoor photos at the start of each section! Like pg. 110 - cows in the mist. Oh yeah, and the food too - very nice to see color photos of the dishes. Since I am new to cast iron cooking, I only own one 9" and one 12" skillet, so I'll be using several of the recipes that call for those but not sure I'll be purchasing dutch ovens, muffin pans, etc. Also, the family stories are a very nice touch. Side note about Lodge brand... I find this cookware to be of superior quality to other brands produced in other countries. Since they are pre-seasoned, it seems to have taken no time to get the skillets to be non-stick with regular use. They heat very evenly, which is one of the things that makes makes them great to use.

I bought this in hopes for some good recipes for my cast iron dutch oven when we go camping. It has some interesting and delicious recipes, but not what I was looking to make for camping. If you are wanting recipes for cast iron skillets and casseroles I would recommend this book. I also ordered the Scout's Dutch Oven Cookbook and it met my needs perfectly.

A practical cookbook that also looks nice displayed in your kitchen. A nice variety of recipes.

I’m new to cast iron cooking. And I wanted a book to teach me. This book is incredible! Like having your grandmother next to you teaching you. And I’m a visual learner! The the pics are perfect! I love this book! Best cook book I’ve ever bought! Just one warning!!! ⚠️ It’s gonna make you want to buy more cast iron! Now I gotta buy a cast iron Dutch Oven! 😂

I am not sure how I made it this long without this recipe book. My family has loved everything we've made in it so far. I am new to cast iron cooking and this recipe book has been a game changer. The chicken potpie with a biscuit crust is the best we've had yet. My husband was really amazed. We've tried the Frittatas, cornbread, pancakes and many more. You won't regret this purchase!! Oft sind Kochbücher ja eher Inspirationen. Aber ein Dutch Oven kocht einfach anders und da finde ich das Buch einfach hilfreich bei den ersten Schritten. Ansonsten sind die Anregungen gut und die Rezepte funktionieren nicht nur sondern es ist auch alles richtig lecker ;9
