I got this to store cat food. One of our cats is allergic to plastic so I had to find an alternative container. This works great! It holds a whole large bag of food with room to spare. I use the scoop to fill the bowls. The lid fits well and it’s nice looking. Since I’m using it inside, I can’t comment on rust resistance but it seems pretty durable and will last a long time.

12-6-2025 I used it straight out the box. This bucket is solidly built and HUGE. I'm always off in these things, but it works good so far. It does heat up pretty good with hot ashes, but the wood handle is working well enough for now. We're keeping it on the brick part of the fireplace even though it has a slightly raised bottom and shouldn't burn the carpet, but why borrow trouble, right? Anyway, so far, so good! Anything changes, I'll update my review.

This bucket for ashes is great. It holds a lot of ashes. The shovel is small & I don't use it. It looks good sitting on the hearth.

Good ash bucket, it's nice looking sitting beside the stove. Its a good size, holds quite a bit of ash but it's pretty pricey. That's why I rated four stars.
