Looks good, works well
Bought this as a gift and they loved it. Nice novelty piece. Well made and a good conversation piece. We also have one ourselves and it seems to be very accurate.

Beautiful! High Quality!
I was concerned given the reviews. But, I went ahead and bought it anyway. I am wondering if those who stated that the barometer did not work are tapping the barometer to get it to move. With analog barometers, when you want to see whether the pressure is rising or falling, you move the manual needle to where barometer's needle is to mark its last location. Then, you tap the glass and the barometer's needle moves to the current location. The needle won't move unless you tap the glass because there is just a slight bit of friction built into the barometer so whoever is reading it can take note of whether the pressure is rising or falling.

It's a start.
This item is beautiful and fits in to our living room wonderfully. It is cheaply made over seas, but for the price it does exactly what it should do. I am not convinced the barometer works correctly and the directions were as good as useless. The traditional Galileo glass spheres are fun to watch, although I'd love to know which liquids were which. For true weather forecasting, I think it falls short. However, for a nice looking item that is semi-useful I give it two thumbs up.

Awesome gift
I purchased this as a gift for a grandparent, and they absolutely adored it. The reading process simply involves following the lowest visible number within the tube. It's also quite visually appealing.

the screw for the battery compartment was stripped, there for making the clock usless
the clock needed a battery that I knew did not come with the item. The screw that held the battery was completely stripped and I could not get the the battery compartment. There for the clock is useless

Weather station
Christmas gift to daughter. She loved it, liked the wood color, liked that she could carry it from room to room. Couldn't wait to test out all the features.

Works great and looks great
It all works great. If the barometric pressure looks off, tap the glass a bit to see if the needle will move. I wouldn't count this as a fault though, as my dad has to do the same with his top-of-the-line banjo-style barometer. The temperature bulbs are fun to watch and it's easy to glance from across the room to get an idea of the temperature. The humidity gauge is accurate as well. It has a "normal" range marked from 40% to 70% which might not be normal in your region. The clock keeps time well running on a round 357/303 battery that you'll need to purchase separately but can be found easily. The clock ticks audibly, but no louder than any other clock.

Great weather station!
I'm just totally happy with this. The nickel trim is of high quality, as are the instruments themselves, plus the wood is smooth and has a nice uniform finish. I looked at most similar items on Amazon, and this is the one I'd recommend, unless you prefer a brass-type trim finish. Had it a couple of months and I'd buy it again.
