nice build
The Lego instructions were excellent, and my almost 8-year-old son had no trouble assembling this model. It's a bigger car and it took him two days on and off to complete it. He had fun with the special details in this design, such as the moving pipes, foldable bumper that goes up high, and shaped roof panels. The final product looks realistic. It made a great addition to his collection of Lego cars.

Pretty awesome
I'm a new Lego enjoyer but Corvettes are my favorite car and orange is my favorite color so I had to get this set. It's my first Technic style set to complete. I would say some of it was challenging. And there were parts that said to make two identical of things but you actually had to make mirror parts instead. That was challenging to not have it all spelled out, as I'm a novice lego builder. Also, the bags were not numbered so it was a lot of pieces to have out at one time. It also does not come with a take apart tool. Overall, it was a fun build and it's a great "toy" to play with and look at. The doors do not open when made. The steering of the front wheels is controlled by a gear in the back. The pistons move when pushed. Pretty nifty!

Beautiful Corvette
This Lego kit was not easy to put together because some of the directions were difficult to picture since the pieces were so tightly fit together as opposed to being spread out as they are in some kits. But it was overall well planned in the mode of assembly and in the directions too. Unlike some vehicles put together in other kits, this corvette's size is substantial and it is genius how the Lego designers produced such a size. Love the fact that the pistons move when the car rolls. Wish the trunk and hood opened. Took about six hours to complete - working slowly and precisely. Finished product was a delight to create - very satisfying since all the pieces were present and everything worked as designed.

Mmmmm, dat hot rod!
C’mon, you know you want to buy this becasue of the hot rod build. :) I am about halfway through the build and really like this set. The ‘vette is OK, but I wish LEGO would release a giant sized hot rod set. I have been buying several LEGO sets because the alternate builds are cooler than the front of box ones. I’ve been playing with them for forty years and still having fun. Update: Finished both builds. My opinion is that this kit was designed by the accountants at LEGO. It should have been marketed as a retro hot rod kit at $25-30. Then there should have been a larger $350 super detailed large Corvette kit released in the style of their big Bugatti kit. Instead, you get the most underwhelming ‘vette build ever and an awesome, but overpriced hot rod. Total missed opportunity on both ends. I still think the hot rod is great though. ;)
