Our 9-pound cat loves this more than any other (much more expensive!) nest thing we've ever bought her! She lives in it most of the time! I recommend using the peek-a-boo cut-out, as she loves to hang her neck over it -- I think she loves the feel of that cut-cardboard edge. The box really gives her that "held" feeling that all cats want. Most cat-beds are too roomy for her. (Still, there's enough room in this for a bigger-than-9-pound cat.) It fits nicely on my desk, and she sits here in it next to me all day. I'm getting a second one to put in front of a living room window, and a third one as a gift for a friend's new kitties.

I had this 0ld box that is very small and I had for years my 15 pound cat 🐈 loved it. I had it by my chair and he used it all the time. I had a friend always wanted me to get rid of it because it looked so bad. I never listened. But this Christmas I was looking for things for my cat Christmas and I found this box. I didn't measure it or anything. It could have been a little cheaper but it was still worth it. Putting it together was easy. And it went pretty good with my living room furniture. So I replaced his old box and set the new box in the same place. He loved it. Had no trouble changing out the boxes and it looks like the same size as the old one. So now he has a pretty new looking box to set in next to my chair. Any cat would be happy to get this box.

This item is literally a box! Not an overly sturdy box, a box like the bottom of a box you buy boots in. IT’S JUST A STANDARD EVERYDAY BOX. When I purchased, I thought it had a scratcher in the bottom of it, but no. It’s literally just a box. The same box that I can buy at Walmart, cut in half, and have two for half the price of what I paid for this box. I could’ve used the box that it came in and saved myself some money. Do not buy this, unless you want to spend nine dollars on something you can get for free by buying bulk at Costco, or you have cats that won’t just sit in any old box like mine do. As far as I’m concerned, this is a rip off. Save your money. Buy a scratcher and put it in the bottom of a shoe box.

UPDATE: I've had this cat box for over a year now and it is used daily by multiple cats for several hours a day and it still looks new. One very large 15lb cat has now pushed the sides out and now we call it the "lounger". Have no fear, the cats still love it! They might even love it more! Pic added for proof.All of my 6 cats LOVE this box (and the box it came in). They are obsessed with boxes. I have cardboard boxes in the family room and bedroom, but I didn't want one next to me on my desk all day. This box is perfect!!! I agree that it's ridiculous to pay for a cat box, but they really love this thing. They all share the box but 1 of my cats stays in it just about all day long. Super happy with my purchase!

Well i really felt stupid buying a cardboard box for my cat. The great reviews took over my common sense. Cat owners were stating there is something special about the box that cats just adore. Well my cat is special enough to splurge and buy a cardboard box. Yeah, that's why i now have a new blue file box for my papers. Neither of my 2 kitties have the slightest bit of interest in this blue box. Have tried putting towels inside, moving to higher or lower areas and leaving empty. No luck. But the new chenille bath mat i purchased from Amazon now belongs to kitty.

Great sturdy box that looks better on our floor than the Amazon shipping box did. Just wish it was a little bigger.

It's a simple product. easy to assemble. but I imagined it coming with a scratcher to put on the inside. I mean without it, it's just a basic box you can get from any delivery you get delivered to your abode. I am disapointed by it. Semes like a waste of money.

Yes, it's a cardboard box that you're buying. It's worth it. Bettie-the-Cat, like all cats, loves cardboard boxes. However, used Amazon boxes aren't exactly the height of home decor. $6.99 was a low enough price point that I was willing to get it and call myself a fool if it didn't work out. It was so much better than I could've imagined. Bettie-the-Cat LOVES this box like no other. She was obsessed with it before I even finished assembling it (dont worry, assembly merely requires unfolding it). I don't know why and for $6.99 I honestly don't care. It's worth every penny.The only negative is that after a month one side of the box started to sag. This was easily remedied with a small amount of packing tape at the corners to shore up the entire box. Bettie-the-Cat is a "robust" "full-figured" kitty so this may not be a problem with the product, she may be more cat than cardboard can reasonably be expected to support. Even with this negative, the product is worth it and I bought another one for her.
