Muscle & Chrome: Classic American Cars

Bought this book as a Christmas present for my Dad. He loved it. Very sturdy book with great photos and lots of great information.

I bought this as a birthday present for my friend’s husband. He really likes it a lot and is looking forward to going through it. He loves old cars.

I surprised my uncle with this beautiful car book and he could not put it down! He spotted beloved cars he had owned as well as those he had dreamed of owning, or at least driving! He will soon be 100 years old so it was such a pleasure to see his eyes light up with the almost boy-like delight so many memories brought back! Now I have that beautiful memory of his smiles and pure delight telling me those stories. I purchased this as a used book and it arrived in close to pristine condition. It is also the size of a coffee table book making it easier for him to see the color photography. Not sure about reading the captions, but he remembers enough about these great American made automobiles from back when they built them with individual personalities that he could probably write his own captions!

One of the best value for money for photographs of cars- lots of relevant data about the brands and models, but the true value for me is the high quality and diversity of car photography.

Com este título, pensei que o livro apresentaria apenas fotos daqueles carros quadradões dos anos 60 e 70, pois essa é a época dos muscle cars. Mas não, o livro mostra carros desde 1946, carros cheios de chrome, é verdade, mas sem nada de muscle. Há um pouco de tudo, muscle cars, sport cars, pony cars, clássicos e até woody cars. O livro não tem autor, e uma breve introdução é escrita nas orelhas da capa, sem explicar direito qual foi o critério para a escolha dos carros mostrados. Alguns carros parecem não ter absolutamente nada a ver com o título do livro. Talvez tenham alguma importância nos Estados Unidos. Mesmo assim o livro é interessante. Apresenta sempre 2 fotos do carro por fora, uma foto do motor, uma do painel e um texto que não é curto demais para ser dispensável, nem grande demais para ser entediante. É um bom equilíbrio entre imagens e informação.

I got this for my father in law who loves cars and I'm really excited to give it to him, I know he will like them. This book is great quality, the outer sleeve is image is imprinted/pressed so the image is raised and the book is heavy. Perfect and so worth it!

I'm gifting this book to my 31yr old son, who has been a race/muscle car enthusiast since he could walk. I believe he will like it. I'm happy with the quality of book. It's a nice size, heavy, pages are good weight and great photos. I'm definitely glad I chose this book.
