Wonder-ful
To me this is the best Wonder Woman animated movie. With some adjustments I could really see this as a live action movie version. Everyone should feel inspired and empowerment when it comes to a heroine like Diana.

A Fun Addition to the DC Animated Movie Universe!
Sam Liu’s 2019 film, “Wonder Woman: Bloodlines,” is the fourteenth film in the DC Animated Movie Universe and features Rosario Dawson reprising her role as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. The first part of the story serves as a prequel to Jay Oliva’s 2014 film, “Justice League: War,” telling Diana of Themyscira’s origin and setting up the Parademons that foretell Darkseid’s attack in “War.” Diana meets Steve Trevor (Jeffrey Donovan), who was tracking the Parademons. Together, they journey to Man’s World where Etta Candy (Adrienne C. Moore) brings Diana and Steve to Dr. Julia Kapatelis (Nia Vardalos). Unfortunately, Dr. Kapatelis fawns over Diana and ignores her daughter, Vanessa (Marie Avgeropoulos). Time passes, and Diana, now going by the name “Wonder Woman,” must battle the members of Villainy, Inc. as Vanessa seeks to sell a mystical tablet she stole from her mother to Dr. Cyber (Mozhan Marnò) and Dr. Poison (Courtenay Taylor). Villainy, Inc.’s minions kill Dr. Kapatelis and Vanessa blames Diana, eventually becoming the villain Silver Swan after a further passage of time. To save Julia, Wonder Woman must find her way back to Paradise Island and fight Cheetah (Kimberly Brooks) along the way. In keeping with classical mythology, her and her companions’ hero’s journey includes a maze with a Minotaur (Michael Dorn) policing it. Wonder Woman defeats Cheetah and frees the Minotaur from his enchantment, but Villainy, Inc. learns the location of Themyscira, leading to a climactic battle between Amazon warriors, supervillains, and legendary monsters. Each part of these stories is fun, but it can feel like three disjointed stories since it serves as both a prequel and continuation of the DC Animated Movie Universe stories. The film, like others in the DC Animated Movie Universe, features characters and costumes inspired by the New 52 comic book stories. The film is a fantastic story featuring many of Wonder Woman’s classic villains as well as several mythological elements. This is to date the third Wonder Woman solo film, following Lauren Montgomery’s 2009 direct-to-DVD animated film based on George Pérez’s post-Crisis Wonder Woman comics with character designs inspired by Bruce Timm’s work as well as the 2017 theatrical film in the DC Extended Universe. Bonus features include a look at Cheetah as Wonder Woman’s archenemy, a sneak peak at the DC animated film, “Superman: Red Son,” and two bonus cartoons. The disc also includes the DC Showcase short “Death,” based on Death of the Endless from Neil Gaiman’s “Sandman” comics. That story, by J.M. DeMatteis, gets everything right about Death of the Endless and will be a delight for fans of “Sandman”! The bonus cartoons are both from “Batman: The Brave and the Bold”: “Triumvirate of Terror!” and “Scorn of the Star Sapphire!” These stories are fun with their late-1950s/early-1960s aesthetic, but, unlike other curated cartoons on DC’s animated Blu-rays, they don’t really match the tone of the film and are instead just episodes that happen to feature Wonder Woman and Cheetah (and in the second episode, she only appears in the pre-credits scene), thereby highlighting the fact that Wonder Woman has yet to have her own modern animated series.

🤯
This movie had a couple of twists I was not expecting. The first 20 minutes felt like the Gal Gadot live action movie redone in animation form but eventually it became it’s own movie. Not familiar with Silver Swan, her story in this movie was interesting. The 3rd act felt like a live action blockbuster 3rd act where it’s just insane. Decent movie. Disc worked perfectly. Get this movie to add to your collection if you’re a Wonder Woman fan.

Action-packed Wonder Woman film that tries to do too many things at once
First, the blu-ray is great. No complaints about the physical product. But the film? While not the worst Wonder Woman project out there, it's also far from perfect. And it's a shame, because it has the makings of a fantastic animated film. It just tries to do too much in too short of a runtime. The film once again shows Diana's origin as Wonder Woman which I felt very unnecessary. We've seen the origin in the 2017 live action film as well as the 2009 animated film. They could have easily cut that segment out, spent more time with some of the villains, and the movie would've benefited greatly. If nothing else, Wonder Woman: Bloodlines is a nice showcase of Wonder Woman's underrated rogues gallery. All the big names are here, like Cheetah, Giganta, Dr. Cyber, Silver Swan and Dr. Poison. Plus a few surprises here and there (including a fan-favorite minotaur). Some characters, like Silver Swan, have never been adapted into animation before. So I have to give the film props for that. But in general, the plot feels messy and I LOATHE the blue body suit they have Wonder Woman wearing for half the film.

Good Wonder Woman animation
Heavily influenced by the live action movie but still has got most of its original treat on many aspects. Usually the Diana Prince side of her never got a chance to be shown in other shows but this one made it by adding good supporting characters. WW isn't about detective work or who is morally perfect. It's about her love to help people around her even before fighting them. This one hits the pot and got some very good fighting scenes where Diana has real needs to push her limits. Well done.
