Really nice cable
I had always used Shimano cables. Picked this up instead and don't really know why. A bit cheaper but it is a wash. Super nice cable! I bent the housing together with my fingers really tight and there was almost no drag. Plus you don't have to deal with the Shimano Teflon coating shedding or stripping it under the connection points. This will be my go to cable from now on. AND.... I know most people could care less about this, but the packaging has almost zero plastic. 100% recyclable/compostable. I will gladly do business with a company that actually cares about the future of our species and opts to not do business in a 1970's fashion.

Best $30 you can spend to give new life to tires brakes
Purchased this kit to use on a Poseidon Redwood that came with cable brakes and stock housing. The Tektro brakes were anemic prior to installing this cable and compression-less housing….. the installation is very easy and the kit contains more than enough cable and housing to complete the replacement of both brakes … for $30 doing this first gave new life to underperforming brakes since the housing prevents the loss of power in the lever pull. I also have this kit on my Salsa Cutthroat with TRP Spyre-C brakes and they perform very well

pretty basic stamped-steel bushings
After working as a mechanic for several years, I got a bit jaded on aftermarket cable kits versus OEM Campy/Shimano kits.Well, for one, they're expensive for what you get, especially the Campagnolo kits. No sealing, pretty basic stamped-steel bushings, and the same coiled cable housing that's been used for a century. Plus, your choice of black or white.I've been using Jagwire kits for a decade now, back when they had a Kevlar road kit, which is still going strong on one of my road bikes with occasional inner cable replacement. The housing is pre-lubed and the inner wire is very, very smooth, but what really makes the deal is the assortments of bushings they provide and their sturdiness in cable bosses. Long-nose for open runs along the top/down tubes, and machined aluminum bushings, including their POP ones for V-Brakes, at the caliper. I save the extras for other builds I've done. With this particular set, I've been using them for a few years on a hybrid mech/hydro setup—TRP levers and TRP Hy/Rd calipers on a Raleigh RXS, which is intended for a full-hydro line. They give you enough housing to run the full length housed. The housing comes in a single piece, with more flexible, traditional coiled housing at either end, for getting the cable to the levers. Otherwise, its a very stiff, zero compression housing. I really can't tell that my brakes aren't full hydro if it weren't for the lack of hassle and bleeding. The inner cables, aside from the smooth polishing, aren't anything fancy but they really minimize drag. One caveat from installing another set on a different bike: the inner cable heads do NOT fit Campagnolo Ergo levers without a lot of filing (and yes, I did file them down, that's how much I love these).Kit comes with a pair of nice rubber bumpers so you don't have to put adhesive squares on your head tube, and a couple retainers that clip the cables together that reduce rattling. Minor little things that make your bike a little quieter ("like the zen of the wind," as my old boss used to say)Color selection is nice, too. Ice gray on my neon yellow bike and flat black on my...well, flat black bike. The Bianchi green matches their frame paint well.Last thing: the instructions included are absolutely terrible, but if you know how to replace cables, you don't need them. Just use the bushings that fit, and for god sake, use a real Park cable cutter. Other than that, these are a great upgrade from OEM Campy/SRAM/Shimano cables without the expense and diminishing returns of something exotic like Ashima.

Night And Day Improvement in Braking Performance
Especially with disc brakes, stopping power is improved significantly with this cable set. I had upgraded my old Avid BB7 disc brakes to TRP Hy/Rd and found the braking performance was not improved and was even slightly degraded. The problem was that I was using traditional brake cables and housing. Despite the fact that they were high quality, they were not "compressionless" and a lot of power was being lost to housing compression.I installed the Jagwire Road Pro set, housings and cables and on my first test ride I was impressed at the stopping ability. The brakes went from stopping barely better than cantilevers to crisp quick stops, capable of skidding the rear tire with my full weight still on the seat. I am now able to make truly emergency stops if needed.

A Good Kit
This kit has everything you need to replace your brake housings and cables. I even ran housing from my shift lever all the way to the rear brake and had some left over (my preferred method for internal-to-frame routed cables). The cables seem well constructed and low friction. I've only had them on my bike for a few weeks now, but they are working great so far.One side note: I bought a bike used (a 2015 Specialized Crux EVO) and they had run shift cable housing to the rear brake and run brake cable through it. As a friend of mine commented this is "sub-optimal." The rear brake was not releasing properly with this combination and it wasn't until I was replacing it that I noticed the incompatible housing. While you could probably get away with using brake cable housing to a shifter, the opposite is definitely NOT true (for those who don't know, brake cable is significantly larger than shift cable). Keep shift and brake cable & housing separated after opening and labelled (I use zip-loc bags and a sharpie) in those rare cases when you only use one cable or have housing left over.

WOW, Disc Brakes Have Never Been Happier.
Overall a great upgrade for my Tektro Lyra disc brakes. You know how the front brake always feels a lot smoother and less "bind-y" than the rear one? This cable kit makes the back one feel as easy to pull as the front one. There is a small noticeable increase in stopping power, but don't expect magical improvements. It's mostly in the feel of the level. Would buy again for sure.

Not item fault.
Bought one from the damaged packaging option. Item came with a completely different cable outers and inners (Shimano m-type). Suspect that it was ordered, took the item and returned with a different cable. Ordered somewhere else and same item worked well and as described.

Overall pleased.
Inners not as well made as previous Jagwire products. Easy to fray. Would like to see a brake specific barrel adjuster for TT bikes with integrated brakes.
