A Completely Stand-alone Smartwatch
This is an amazing product. I have a Pebble and Sony Smartwatch 2, which are great products that require a tethered smartphone, but the Callisto is a completely stand-alone watch. It sports a full 4.2.2 version of Android with access to all Google Play apps; a gsm cell phone that works fantastic; built in mic; built in speaker; gps; wifi; bluetooth; gyro; camera; etc. all of which work as if you were using a top of the line smartphone. There is no need for having a tethered smartphone. The watch is a smartphone as a smartwatch. Why this product isn't advertised more aggressively in the US is beyond me. It far outdoes the other tethered smartwatches by a million miles. I haven't installed any of my favorite Google Play apps that didn't adapt completely to the 1.54" 240x240 screen. Typing can be a bit of a challenge with fat fingers, but can be resolved by purchasing a fingertip stylus that makes things copable. Anyway... for the price, especially given the new Googlewear smartwatch prices, is exellent, and in some cases, less.

Great Hardware, Terrible Software
This is a pretty neat device. I waited for a while before getting it, but I'm glad that I eventually did. I would not, however, ever recommend that anyone get this watch if they don't know what they're doing with Android. The system settings on this thing are terrible. For example, there is a back button, but it only exists to exit an app and bring you back to the home screen. This is very frustrating when attempting to navigate. There is no menu button. The default settings made it so that you can only fit three applications into a folder at any given time. Many apps have items that exist off-screen that you can't access. Furthermore, the keyboard takes up roughly 75% of the screen when it is in use, and there is no way to dismiss it. Other keyboard apps, such as Minuum, don't play well with the system settings. With the default app, you can't see what you're typing, making it exceedingly difficult to navigate some of the apps. That said, this watch has plenty of bang for its buck. You have GPS, extendable ROM up to 32gb, decent speakers, a gyroscope, a mic, a great camera, and plenty of other doodads that make it fun to play with. The problem is that the system is so poorly organized, and so poorly optimized that it makes it difficult to use the hardware to its fullest. Also, the custom rom options for the smartwatch don't seem to be all that great at the moment. That's just my preliminary research, though, so don't take it as scripture. Regardless, you'll be hard-pressed to find such a neat smartwatch with such great hardware in the immediate future. Just don't get into this thing if you're not willing or able to play around with the settings for hours on end.In summary: I love what this thing can do, but man does it need a ton of work to get it to function appropriately. Steer clear away if you don't know how to manipulate Android. This is something of a handyman's special.

Cool concept, but poor quality.
Several issues, battery not charging, sim is impossible to insert & destroyed the watch upon removal. Regret the purchase.

They really do work like miniature cell phones
I have now purchased 2 of these watch phones. They really do work like miniature cell phones. It is a little hard to get used to typing on the touch keyboard, and it does obscure a good part of the screen when it is up, but it is something that can be worked around. The camera is excellent, although a bit tricky to use with the side positioning. I though the GPS was not working on both phones; I spent a ton of time trying to get them to sync up but had no luck. The solution was a program called GPS Status from the Google Play store. Go outside and give it plenty of time, and it will eventually sync up. GPS Test program also works for this. It took about 5-10 minutes for the initial sync, but after that syncs very quickly. You can use all of the phone options except phone calls and text messaging without using a SIM card. My son has a SIM from AT&T that we put on our data plan, and it is fully functional. On mine, I have no SIM but can do anything but calls and texts if I'm in wireless range. The interface is snappy and surprisingly clear. You do have to learn some swipe motions, like swiping in from the right side to go "back".I have installed a number of programs. Facebook, YouTube, etc. all work as expected. I actually bought mine mainly to use for running. Runkeeper works very well, with a nice clean interface that rivals any dedicated running watch. Plus, one can use the Bluetooth feature with Bluetooth headphones and listen to music or podcasts (such as "We Have Concerns", my personal favorite).Overall, a ridiculous piece of technology. You can spend hours finding more and more things you can do. Want to speak your text message? No problem. Need to do navigation? No problem. Google maps works just like on any other phone. You can use two fingers to zoom in and out as well. There are a few issues: First, it is a little heavy, and a little thick. Not uncomfortably, but it is noticeable. This is my son's 3rd cell phone watch (the first two from China) and this is actually smaller and more naturally shaped. Second, there are some apps that don't work correctly, or are too difficult to navigate at the small resolution. MapMyRun crashes, but RunKeeper works fine. Third, don't expect much support. I e-mailed Iconbit several times about the GPS issues and never received a response. And lastly, be cautious of price swings. These were $279 when I purchased them ($199 for the 100 model), but $399 right now.Otherwise, if you want a cell phone on your wrist, then this is it.
