You can't really put a price on peace of mind, so I suppose the value for money of an item like this is relatively subjective. That having been said, I believe the seller is asking a fair price for an item that, along with other available security measures, will at least help you to get a reasonable night's sleep while one of your most prized assets stands at the mercy of would-be car thieves. This item would have received five stars all round except for the fact that it is difficult to fit on my vehicle because the 'socket' does not slide down far enough onto the handbrake handle, thus causing the lock arm to be to far forward, even at its shortest extension. Ideally I would have like to have fitted the unit with the gear selector in neutral. As it is, I am having to place it into first gear to get the lock arm to fit around the gearstick boot. It also worries me that, over time, the way the lock arm grips the boot will cause it permanent damage. So unless/until I can find a more suitable unit like this for my specific vehicle, then this item will be far more than sufficient to do the job.

Bought this for a 2019 Vauxhall Corsa & it doesn’t even come close to fitting, complete waste of money. There’s no way of being able to return the item as it comes in sealed plastic packaging which you have to cut open to remove the contents. There should be something in the product description advising which cars this product does or doesn’t fit.

It acts as a barrier to deter or slow down thieves, but it didn't fit, it looks like it could scratch the hand break if you're not careful, only purchase if it definitely fits. Not the sturdiest thing either, I think you could destroy it with a mini sledge hammer. I can't criticise it too much due to the price, it scores some points because it could deter thieves and definitely slow them down. You could place it somewhere else like the steering wheel to slow thieves down if it doesn't fit the handbrake. Requires a large space between the handbrake and gear stick.

A really good idea and very safe

A lot of organised car theft has been happening in my area lately, specially the model of car I drive. I know this clamp won’t necessarily prevent theft if someone actually broke into my car and was smart enough to break it off, but it’s definitely an excellent deterrent. I use this all of the time when my car is parked outside of my house, as well as when I park in new areas or areas I do not trust at all, it gives me more confidence in the safety of my car. Although, the screw that holds the lock to the gear knob & handbrake comes loose a lot which is very annoying, but it’s an easy fix by screwing it back in again. It also comes with two keys just in case you lose one which is convenient.
