Soft, water proof, and cleans up well
I selected this product for three reasons: (1) the water proof lining, (2) the soft Sherpa/fleece exteriors, and (3) it was the largest I could find to cover the bottom of our dog pen. We pen our Lab at night and needed a soft, water proof cover for the underlying pad. It is placed with the white, "fluffy", Sherpa side up.This has worked well so far for us and our older dog. The occasional night time accidents have been easy to clean, there has been no leakage or staining, and the synthetic fiber dries quickly. I have washed it twice and there appears to be no wear or deterioration. Our dog seems comfortable with the soft Sherpa side. The white color lets me know when it is time to wash the blanket. Our dog does not chew, so I can't comment on how well it would do with a chewing dog, but probably as well or better than other comparable blankets.

Fantastic waterproof pet blanket!
Cosmo is the first dog that we have ever allowed in our bed. So we had to find a pet blanket to protect our beautiful top blanket and sheets. The PetAmi pet blanket has really done a fantastic job of keeping everything underneath spotless and dry. We’ve had it for about eight months now. We wash it every week or two, and it’s kept its original condition. We use it when we travel and have never had any problems. In fact, its so soft, warm and comfy, you can use it just for humans. We haven’t had any need to contact customer service, but they have made a very good blanket. We highly recommend this company.

Fantastic solution for pets in bed
I absolutely love this blanket. Game changer. I have two pugs and a cat piled into the bed and there is a lot of hair. I used to use top sheets and change them out every two days, but this thing seems to work differently. You can’t see the hair, and it sticks to the cover, and I don’t have to switch it out as much, the pets absolutely love it and it’s nice and warm to. Easy to wash the only thing is I wish it was bigger like many people have said in the reviews. Unfortunately, if you order the biggest size which is perfect size, you pay, almost double the price. Too bad , I find myself having to readjust the blanket to fit the queen size bed all in all this is a great blanket.

LOVE!
We bought a new couch with chaise loungers, and I bought two of these to protect the ends of the chaise. I have one male dog that likes to pee on the corners of furniture, and another dog who has very sharp nails. These do a great job of protecting the couch from urine, and stops sharp nails from tearing the upholstery. They're also very easy to wash. Can't say enough good things!!!

Finally - A Truly Waterproof Dog Product
Dog blanket goals:1. truly waterproof2. attractive enough to use on the couch without giving our living room a kennel vibe3. able to stand up to a washing machine and two puppies (since they're made for dogs)4. a price point that isn't completely ridiculous (Willing to pay a bit more than throw blanket prices for the waterproofing and quality, but I'm not paying a fur-baby premium. They're not spun by fairies from unicorn tears, and our dogs seem to ignore or destroy things in direct proportion to how expensive they are.)Too much to ask? You wouldn't think so; but we've spent literally hundreds of dollars on Amazon in the last two months, and kept the UPS return drop off folks very busy. I don't even click through on anything that doesn't say 'free returns' anymore. Then we found this.Out of the box, it passes the appearance test. The colors are great (we got black/white), and it's REALLY soft on both sides. Material and stitching are high quality. (I checked all the way around and pulled at the seams. It's strong and even, no fraying threads or bad stitches.) One side is microfiber with a rich velour look, the other is a nice sherpa, and the waterproof layer isn't stiff or crackly. It works across the back of our couch or folded in a basket in the corner - could easily be a throw blanket for humans, and we've used it for that a time or two already. Even the packaging comes with a nice ribbon. If it weren't for the puppy paw corner logo and label, I'd gift these for baby showers... and they'll definitely work for protecting furniture from babies and toddlers. But I really paid for the waterproofing because it doesn't matter if the blanket looks great on a stained couch. I tested it before turning it over to the dogs by pouring a half cup of water directly onto it. Bingo - beads up a little bit on the sherpa side, but soaks in quickly (which is good)... and NOT THROUGH to the other side. Not even a drop. That's a lot of liquid to trap in the thin layer of waterproofing material at the core. Of course, the real test was up to the puppies, and they were happy to join the research team. Peed a river on it about a week after purchase as it sat on the wood floor. Once again - not a drop got through the barrier. Into the washing machine it went, according to manufacturer directions. I dried it on 'low' and it looked brand new so I repeated the water test. Still no leakage.WE HAVE A WINNER. I immediately ordered a second one (and repeated all the same tests with the same results because I'm really protective of my expensive furniture.) I'm also thinking of getting a color coordinated one for the non-machine washable chair in my daughter's room because she likes to drink cocoa and make messes (and the pups like to sneak in there). Having purchased a number of these at many price points, it's definitely worth the $24.95 for looks, function, and durability.Coupla things -It's not super thick. That works well for us because I wanted a year round weight and it doesn't take forever to dry. It's withstood two puppies who like to nest and dig, and it's soft enough that it still feels luxurious; but it's a light throw, not a quilt.I've had enough experience with waterproof human bedding over the years to know that these waterproof layers eventually degrade, and the high heat dryer settings aren't your friend. Follow manufacturer directions and don't expect it to be an heirloom piece. It will take care of your furniture the same way you take care of it. And do your own water test before you risk your furniture. Anything can happen with mass manufacturing. The Land Of Amazon is definitely famous for false advertising re: sizes of dog (and human) blankets and the dumb photos never help. We got the 50x40 (small) and I can tell you that the dimensions of THIS blanket are correct. (If you don't check the sizes and/or compare them to another blanket, your bed, or measure it out on the floor, that's on you. The 50x40 is about half the size of a queen mattress.)

Soft, washable looks good and performs well
I wish it was a little bigger but I knew the dimensions when I bought it so I can't hold that against it,a 30 pound dog fits well but a larger dog might be a challenge. Other than that I'm very satisfied, the material is very soft, plush on one side and smooth on the other and it doesn't have the stiff rubber liner that some others have so it feels like a regular blanket or throw. I haven't needed it for a giant spill but one of my dogs has a bladder control issue and leaks occasionally, enough to soak through a few layers of fabric but I haven't had a drop soak through any time it's happened while she's on it. You do need to be careful washing it, I run a lower speed spin and you're not supposed to get it too hot so I take it out of the dryer slightly damp and let it finish air drying

Not big enough for a king size bed
I was looking for a blanket to protect my king size bed. This is the biggest I could find, but it still was not big enough (especially when you add people it has to cover). It would be great if it had 8 more inches on all sides to protect the sheets more. I loved the softness and color.

Use for my grandson.
This blanket keeps the sofa clean and dry from diaper leak throughs. I eventually bought a second one for a spare when first one needs washing.

Completely lives up to description
Our dog loves his new blanket and it’s the only one he has not tried to destroy it. A bit more expensive than some similar blankets but absolutely worth it.

Happily surprised
Waited to review until I could really test it out. I got it as my cat sometimes pees on my bed. I was in love with how soft and nice it looked upon opening. It’s a very pretty and warm blanket. And am happy (or not) to say last night I found my cat had peed on my bed and the blanket did it’s job and didn’t leak through! It’s a bit of a pain to wash as it holds water so well, but overall I’m happy with it. 4 stars until it proves better or worse.

Nice pet blanket , but not waterproof !!!
Bought this for geriatric cat that sleeps on bed during the day . Cat loved the softness and feel of blanket and immediately settled down for her sleep. Came home after work and realized she had a accident, no big deal I thought until I realized it leaked through to the bed. This throw/blanket is not waterproof .Will now put plastic under for true waterproof protection.

Perfect washable blanket!
Our dog has mobility issues but wanted to still get around the yard with us. We got a sled but thought he was too cold without a blanket. The blankets we had for him before were too large & hard to clean if they got dirty. This blanket was perfect! VERY warm, soft, & once we were done with it, it was easy to wash and dry it. When the blanket got snow on it, it didn’t stay wet; the water rolled off the outside & so kept our dog warm. We got the smaller size and it was perfect for our 20lb dog. The blanket made an old dog very happy & warm!

Fur proof and comfy
Just bought so unclear on durability/waterproofness, but it is very soft and washed well. It looks lovely on the bed and definitely keeps the animal hair off well! We bought the 90x90 in Navy and it covers our queen size bed and the sides of it nicely. If our old girl has an accident ill be sure to update on durability!
