Q: What is the consistency? Is it like a putty or more liquid? Thanks!

I took mine to my local parts store and had it shook-up for over 30 mins. Then proceeded to use it afterwards. It is like a grey-colored gravy.the mix should say as per 1 part (3" round by 1" thick) glop of it, use one drop of the hardener. It would be a very good idea to test it out on scrap cardboard or something to get the mixture correct before using it. Either way.., this stuff rates #1 in my book. Especially for medium to large fills. It stays hard as a rock. In four years after, It's still hard as a rock and no shrinkage either!! I did the taillight, door, rear 3/rd brake light, antennae, wiper nozzle, and various other fillers on a s10. They all are still holding up like factory. As to be expected..., this stuff was ONLY used to get the main shape of what I needed. I followed this up with evercoat gold and evercoat putty filler. I hope this helps on your question. I've used this on concrete repairs, auto repairs, and alot of other places around the house.

Q: how thick can you go with this?

As thin as you can, but thick enough to do what you need to do. This stuff can be sanded. It's not easy, so don't slop it on real thick, but just remember that you can sand it. Mix small batches at a time, because it will harden quickly.

Q: Will the aluminum within this filler react cause corrosion with steel, as does other aluminum that is in contact with steel ?

Really can't answer that question unless you're planning to use this ON steel. Don't, unless you're completely coating the repair. They have a filler for steel.
