The BEST sunscreen I've found
This is my MUST HAVE sunscreen. I've had almost every type of skin cancer (thankfully, caught early), so I NEED good sun protection, especially on my face. I have very fair skin. This product leaves a bit of a white cast, but after a short period of time, that white case is absorbed. The white cast of a mineral sunscreen might look chalky on a person with darker skin. The BEST thing about this sunscreen is I can put it on my eyelids and under my eyes, it doesn't irritate my eyes AT ALL. The other well-known sunscreen I used for a long time really made my eyes sting if a bit got into them. This is my favorite sunscreen of all time.

Works great!!
It’s really good mineral sunscreen. It has a white caste initially but it blends in well after a while. I loved to use it on a holiday by the beach. It works well for both face and body.

Better than expected
I have been on the hunt for an all mineral face sunscreen because I have sensitive skin that hates everything and chemical sunscreens are bad for the oceans, so mineral sunscreen solves both of those problems! I have very sensitive and reactive combination skin that leans acne prone in the summer because hello, sweat! I don’t wear makeup and I focus a lot on my skincare, so having a a good sunscreen to top it all off matters. Chemical sunscreens tend to sting my eyes and leave me shiny by the end of the day, but I haven’t been able to find a mineral sunscreen that doesn’t leave my face all white and layers well with my skincare without pilling.I tried this la roche posay in 90 degree weather and I liked it. I don’t love it yet, but I don’t hate it. I like it enough to keep it and continue trying it in my rotation. It felt thick when I put it on which I usually don’t like, but it spread with some effort and left no white cast. It didn’t feel tacky and I didn’t feel like it was melting off my face or anything like that. I wasn’t doing much more than sitting around, so I will update if it slides off with higher activity levels. I’m usually really sensitive around my eye area, and this sunscreen wasn’t irritating at all. I don’t wear makeup, so I can’t speak to how this layers with makeup, but it didn’t pill with my serums and moisturizer and it left a very smooth matte finish that I’d imagine would be fine to apply makeup. Unlike some chemical sunscreens I’ve worn in the past, this didn’t leave me shiny at the end of the day. It has no discernible scent which is great if you’re sensitive to smells. I would not say that this could replace a moisturizer if you are looking for a combo moisturizer sunscreen. It’s not drying, but it’s very matte and doesn’t provide any added moisture. I’m comparing to my old bare republic mineral face that was much lighter and softer to apply than this, but the formula doesn’t mix with my new skincare routine. I will update this review after more use to see how it compares to others I’ve purchased.

So far this sunscreen is working well. You only need a small amount.

Strong white cast
Product feels nice and sits well on my skin but it has an extreme white cast. I am already very fair skin and this sunscreen definitely makes me look pale

My new go to
After spending a few summers in an incredibly humid place, I realized I was constantly feeling like I was sweating out chemicals from my sunscreen. This past summer, I decided to switch to a mineral sunscreen, and my research led me to the La Roche-Posay Anthelios Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50 Gentle Lotion. I’m so glad I did! This sunscreen has become my everyday go-to for both face and body. I love how it feels on my skin—it’s lightweight and soothing, without leaving that heavy, greasy residue. It provides excellent sun protection and includes a subtle tint, which is perfect for me since I don’t wear makeup in the humidity. The fact that it’s oil-free and made with titanium dioxide and zinc oxide makes it a great choice for sensitive skin. I appreciate that it’s also free of oxybenzone. Overall, this sunscreen has been fantastic for my needs, and I highly recommend it for anyone dealing with similar humid conditions.

Extremely irritating and difficult to remove.
I got this because I was looking for a sunscreen I could use on my eyelids and around my eyes. This is very thick and sticky, as might be expected for an inorganic/mineral sunscreen. However, getting it off was very hard and scratched my skin. I only put it on my eyelids once (because it made my vision blurry;) the rest of the time I put it around my eyes and a bit down my nose (when I had too much sunscreen.) My skin barrier took a week to recover. I'm usually very pleased by La Roche Posay -- their Cicatrix B5 healing balm and their healing gel are amazing. (They're also part of my skin healing routine.) But this is a firm NO for me.
