These 19 ounce glasses are a perfect size for red wine, for any wine. The quality of the crystal exceeded my expectations. The rim is thin but not fragile. The long stems are elegant. The shape is perfect. It is relatively sturdy as well. I've been drinking from and washing these glasses on a daily basis for about two months now and none have broken in my hand or in the dishwasher. Any fine crystal wine glass will break if too much pressure is applied when washing the inside. I recommended not letting a glass sit for an extended length of time with any red wine left in it. (Rinse it out before going to bed) If it sits too long a residue red ring may form at the bottom which takes pressure to rub out and increases the risk of breakage. Cupping the top and shaking the glass with warm soapy water usually solves the problem. I can't recommend these wine glasses highly enough. They're the right size and shape and the quality is unbeatable for the price (I paid less than $30.00 for four but they're worth more). I've been drinking wine out of a variety of different size, shape and quality glasses for over fifty years, and in my opinion it's impossible to not be delighted with these.

If you're trying to strike a balance price and an elegant high-quality wine glass, these are a good choice. They look and feel like quality crystal and have held up to hand washing (which I choose to do, but which may not be necessary). I bought sets of these for both red and white wine a couple of months ago. Only one glass has broken so far, but only because it got knocked off the counter and fell all the way to the floor. I just ordered another set of these.

This is the second set I've ordered. Like an idiot, I broke 1 of the first 4 I ordered and couldn't stand not having a full set. Fine crystal, delicate, lightweight. These are perfect a glass for a perfect pour. They are extremely delicate and recommend washing by hand. Solid packaging for shipping. Would definitely order again.

Perfect for white wine

Beautiful! So lovely to drink a super cold sav blanc. I will be buy more! Surly they will break over time, as they are indeed very thin and the nature of glass is to inevitably break. They gorgeous glasses though.

Your guests will be impressed! This is THE wine glass to own. The name Spiegelau is etched inconspicuously on the base. These elegant 'Salute' glasses are tall, perfectly balanced to swirl and view, have a very thin lip and tight opening which comfortably fits the nose to fully appreciate the bouquet. Gorgeous 'clink' sound when toasting. See their durability/commercial use video. Glasses are tipped over on different counter tops and do NOT break, even marble! I'm amazed at the quality, you will be proud to own them.

I like the glasses EXCEPT for the rim. The rim is not finished. It is almost cutting to the lips. After seeing the video, I expected a high quality wine glass. NOT. Very disappointed ... especially for the price.

I like the slightly thicker - and therefore more durable - stem. Most competitive glasses have carried thin stems to ridiculous extremes. We hand wash our wine glasses, so it is literally possible to snap the thin ones while washing and drying them. Perfect size (capacity), height, and shape for us...just what we were looking for, with a bonus of the usual high Spiegelau quality. Excellent!
