I typically have these hanging over a memorial garden. They need direct sunlight as much as possible. The more hours of sunlight they get, the longer they will glow for. However, they actually stay lit longer than most solar items, and give off a stronger light. Im quite impressed with how long they stay lit for with just some sunlight!The stars are really cool. If you want really bright, small stars projected, these need to be placed closer to the ground. If you want somewhat faint, large stars projected, then hang them on tree branches or somplace else several feet off the ground. Either way is nice.They are durable. Mine have dropped onto a sidewalk a few times and the only thing that happened is the solar panel popped out, but it can just be popped back in.They have lots of uses. You can use them to jazz up your yard or a garden, or just bring them out on holidays. Very pleased with my purchase.

Love these outside lantern lights, they are so cute! They look so nice when lite up at night. Love coming home when dark to see them glowing as coming up the driveway. Loved them so much, bought more to give to my mom on Mother’s Day! Great quality and holding up well being outside! Definitely would buy again

These look really nice, they hang easily thanks to the lightweight design and they're actually brighter then I was expecting which is great. They cast a pretty pattern, couldn't capture well at night with my old phone. First photo indoors for an example of the shadow cast, second outdoors. They definitely need a good full charge from the sun so be sure they will get it if you expect them to work as advertised. I put them in an area where I dont have an electric outlet and they add a nice touch of security to brighten the area a bit and they look very nice. Based on prior solar light experiences they dont typically last years but with these it would be easy to simply pop the top off and drop some fairy lights in if it gets to the point of then not working. ** Update - almost one year later and these are still going strong. They survived being outside all throughout a Northeast PA snowy and frigid winter and very rainy spring. Last picture is the newest, still lighting up so changed the rating to 5 star. Totally worth buying!

I can't say enough good things about these lanterns. I have had 8 of them for 2 years and they still light up brightly at night even after being outside for two Colorado winters. They are also beautiful, lighting up the garden beds with a lovely patterned light. Just bought two more for a new bed I am putting in. That makes 10 lighting up my gardens at night. Couldn't be happier with this purchase and this company. Finally, a really good solar lantern!

Update: I still love these lanterns. Got up this morning at 5:30, dusky morning, & they were still going strong. Love love love!Some of the complaints I’m reading are just silly, along with their 1 or 2 stars. Take some responsibility, people.1. Solar lanterns for the garden are NEVER bright. They are for atmosphere & ambiance only. You will never be able to read a book by the light of a solar lantern. But you CAN enjoy a glass of wine.2. Read read read. It’s too lightweight, you say? Try reading the description. It tells you exactly how much one of these lanterns weighs.3. Too large? Too small? Repeat # 2.4. Stopped working? Call customer service, just like you would if your vacuum stopped working.Original review:These lanterns are the brightest solars I’ve seen. They just arrived today, I immediately put them on the patio in the sun, & even with only 4 or 5 hours of sunlight, they are lighting up my garden with a lovely glow. I’m ordering 2 more tonight!

I bought 2 sets of these in the past. Loved them, and all worked well. This is the 3rd set I ordered to replace the one set I had outside that were old. This new set was a hot mess! Looked like someone threw whitewash paint over the black, one does not work at all, and the other one only works part of the time. VERY UNHAPPY customer at this point. The quality of this product has declined dramatically!!! At one time, they were well made and worked exceptionally well. This latest set is a joke. Would have returned them, but had already tried to use them outside. Don’t waste your money!
