Some tips for a deep burgundy color
My mom is all about putting henna on her hair and has been trying to get me to do it. I finally tried it myself because I wanted to dye some grey hairs I have. I bought the Burgundy Henna. I also watched my mom do this countless times so I had a general idea. Instead of water, I used warm/hot beet juice. There are tons of videos on YouTube about it. I didn't have actual beets, so I used some old beets in a jar I had in my fridge. I boiled the beets/juice, strained it, and let the beet water cool for a bit. Then I mixed about 8 of those small henna packets with some instant coffee, the beet juice, and a splash of lemon juice. Some people say don't use lemon juice because it dries the hair, but I also wanted my dark hair color to be stripped a little because I have dark black hair. I want the color to show, but didn't have time or desire to bleach my hair first. I had planned on letting the mixture sit overnight, but then learned dye separation doesn't take that long, especially if the water/juice your using is warm. If you let it sit overnight then you're missing peak time for the hair dye to adhere to your hair. Apparently it separates and then reattaches to the henna if left too long? I let it sit for 2-3 hours. You can tell the separation is taking place because you'll see little pools forming on top of the mixture. That's the dye separating. Then I mixed it up again until it was smooth, minimal to no lumps. Then I put it on my head. I applied front first because that's where I have like 10 grey hairs clumped together. I wanted to make sure they got maximum time to dye. I wish I would've mixed more packets of henna, I ended up not having enough to cover as heavily as I would've liked. By the time I was applying, it was too late. I have shoulder length hair, but it's curly so maybe I should've planned for that. I covered it in plastic and waited 4 hours. Apparently you're not supposed to leave it past 5 hours or it'll reabsorb moisture from your hair, making it dry. Directions online said leave it on until the mixture is dry, but when I wrapped my hair in plastic, it seems like it would take a very long time to dry. Longer than 5 hours. Because at 4 hours, the mixture was still wet/moist on my hair. I rinsed with Luke warm water and applied a leave in conditioner because I used the lemon juice and because the hair feels really course during and after washing. Idk if we're supposed to do that. The color came out amazing. I can really tell by looking at the grey hairs. Even on my dark black hair, I can see the color really well in the light. The burgundy was a deep color and didn't look orange AT ALL. I know henna in general can make hair appear orange (from looking at my mom who has more grey hair). It showed up way better than the regular red hair dye color I used like 6 months ago. The model on the box for the burgundy color has a brighter lighter red color. The instructions did say to see the color better, bleach your hair first. I didn't want to do that yet. Maybe in the future I'll try. I'm happy with this. I will be doing this again. I'll make sure to use a lot more henna packets. I'd rather put too much than too little. I bought the the box pack. I'll probably have to buy another 3 box. I almost wish I had more gray hair so this pretty color was more visible. I'm proud of my first attempt by myself at this. This is literally the first morning after doing it, so I'll try to take photos when my hair is actually styled.

I have been using this henna hair dye for a long time, it always gives me a wonderful dark burgundy color and it does not fade super quick.

It didn't work for me
I was not happy with this particular henna product I tried this and one other from a local hair store, none of them actually fully colored my hair as I wanted, I only got like literally a few streaks here and there throughout my hair, so I was very disappointed with both products. I may try one more time but I will have proffessionaly done

It works
This was a good alternative to hair dye. My hair came out very vibrant but after a few days it becomes more of a coppery red, so if that’s the shade you are going for the get it
