We got these for our kitchen but they don't work on older style cabinets because the doors are too far apart. Used them on more modern cabinets in the bathroom instead, and on classic style closet doors. They work great and are easy for adults to open.If you forget it's on and pull too hard, it will come off. It did not cause any damage and we were able to re-stick it with no problems

We have cats who notoriously try to get in the cabinets. One of them likes sit and play with the swinging doors by barely opening it and letting slam shut, which ends up being really annoying. These babies help!The cabinet locks were easy to install and are easy to open and close, but not so easy a child could open it. Some crafty children may get the hang of it if they are able to open things like dog collars and such, but this will help keep toddlers/infants (and animals!) out of places you don't want them to be.I would have given these locks 5 stars if it hadn't been for two things. 1) The one crafty cat I have still finds a way to put his paw under the cabinets and bangs. He isn't able to ope. It so far that he can get it, but he will still try after months of installing these. 2) Catastrophy hit when my boyfriend tried closing the clasp after getting what he needed out of the cabinet. The locking part completely fell out of the contraption. The top part that lands on the know to hold it in place still works fine. It just won't lock anymore, which is fine for us because the cats don't know it doesn't lock. The cabinets won't open unless you pull the top part away from the know. This could pose a problem if you have kids, though. The other one is holding up fine, so it may have been a faulty piece.Overall, these do the job very well and are a great price!

We got this because our cat likes to open some of our cabinets, so we only know it’s durability with cats and not kids. First we put on one. We were nervous because it had to go on a beveled surface (not flat like they say to). In the middle of the night she pried it open and the adhesive unstuck, but that is not the company’s fault, as we technically did not follow directions. We added a second one and it seems to be holding up. Unfortunately though, the adhesive took off a bit of paint on our wall frame (see second photo). The third photo is of a place where it’s at an angle and really wasn’t meant for this product, but we tried it anyway. Barely any adhesive is touching yet it’s still holding up and we’ve seen the kitty try. Overall this is 5 stars for stopping cats getting in because it’s working and doing what I need to. I decided not to knock a star off for the removed paint because it was I a place it didn’t recommend to put it so it was my fault.

My daughter isn't pulling on doors yet but we set them up so we weren't too late.The adhesion seems very weak so I am not sure how well it will stick if the doors are being pulled at all.Other than that t=hey install is the 3M adhesion and easy to do. And the functionality is simple as well..

The mechanism that holds the clip in place is way too long and too difficult to release and the tolerance for fit is really tight. In order to release the clip you have to depress the lever completely because even at that point, the catch still overhangs and catches on the other base. There’s no reason for the catch to be so difficult to release or for the mouth of the swing arm to be so tight.

The lock has held up amazingly for over 1 year! It finally broke after tons of abuse (accidentally smashing the door on it/pulled against it). I tried to remove the adhesive but it wouldn't budge even after the hairdryer method.. so it scared me.Tip: use dental floss and "saw" through the foam. Then you just pick off the residual adhesive!
