4 out of 10 leaked
I really, really wanted to love these buoys. The positives: The bright flashing light is highly visible from a distance. One of my lobster nets drifted off the pinnacle, and I was able to find it nearly 1/2 mile away. The negatives: About 4 out of 10 leaked. I think it is a gasket issue, because they are of very poor quality. Since I was nearing the end of the return window, I didn't have the time to figure out why some leaked and some didn't. All of them were screwed on the same manner -- tight, but not so tight that it would be difficult to get them off. Also, as others mentioned, unless something is weighting down the buoy, they don't float properly. If you're using floating poly line, you may have some issues. You can solve it by putting a weight to pull the line down.

Be Ready For Disappointment After They Fail
Read all the reviews about them getting water inside so made sure I had them as watertight as possible and all six that I purchased failed after one night of about three hours use in salt water. Doesn't appear you can buy just a new strobe assembly, so I took the guts out and two glow sticks will fit inside. As such, I now have some very expensive glow stick floats for my lobsters hoops. And for what is worth, the flashing light does draw the attention of seals at night, which is not a good thing. I have never had so many swimming a around my floats.

2 out of ten leaked. I was very careful about how I tightened them down after reading the other reviews. I ended up cleaning them out and spraying some WD 40 inside, and they worked again. To solve the problem, I sprayed flexseal around the seal. Now I can't open them without breaking the flex seal, so the blink all of the time. A better design would be to have a waterproof button so you can turn it on and off.The GOOD...they work great and you can really see them from a ways off. I had to weigh down the bottom of these as well so they floated straight up and down.Overall a decent product, but could be way better with some modifications by the company. Maybe they or another company will make these changes and have a home run product. The light stick industry would loose all of the lobster business.

These are great. I see all the other boats using the glow sticks, which you can barely see. Mine are SUPER easy to see, even from far away. With the glow sticks, I was always having trouble finding my traps. With these, so easy. First I tried 2 of these and used glow sticks for my other 4 traps. Once I tried that, I knew I wanted 4 more. Now I only use these. Expensive! But worth the investment. One caveat: They do NOT stand up well enough by themselves. That's why I give them 4 stars. The manufacturer should weight the bottoms more. To fix this, I tied a 1 ounce fishing weight with fishing line to the bottom of each one. Now it works great.

We bought these to attach to our anchor buoys for nighttime fishing
We bought these to attach to our anchor buoys for nighttime fishing. Two issues we encountered, one of the buoys flashes at a rate of 1 flash every 2 seconds, and the other buoy flashes at a rate of 1 flash every 4 seconds (not as per the product description on Amazon), however, this is acceptable for our needs. The second issue we found is that they are top heavy and can tip over easy from wave action. We corrected this by adding a 2 ounce bank sinker to the rope. We would buy more of these if needed at this price point ($20/pair)...

Great for CA Lobster net markers
I use them extensively, with the one lg. D cell they last a long time and the strobe is visible for a long distance. If my trap is floating away or caught by kelp, I can tell from a distance, additionally, they saved the day when we had a Dense Fog roll in and you could still find your traps.

Great for Anchor Line Float
I bought these with a little reservation since they had no reviews. The LED light is bright and has a photo sensor that comes on in the dark. I bought mine to use as a buoy on a SeaDoo anchor line and it has enough buoyancy to hold up the line and shackle. They call it a "torpedo float:" and it has three areas to attach line to. The line is poly and has problems keeping a knot tied together. I put a piece of heat sensitive electrical shrink tubing over my figure 8 knot and that kept it together.

These work exactly as advertised. We attached it to a bouy we use in the lake to hook up a swim raft. When the raft is out of the water, we don't want anybody to run into the bouy. Works perfectly. Very bright light.
