Good trimmer set
Good trimmer set.Only 1 area of concern is how long the beard/hair guards will last.Seem a little fragile. The actual shaver is great, good oversized size. Can't comment too much on battery life as of yet.Blades seem great.Without the guards doesn't shave quite as close as the old one it's replacing but is definitely useable 👍Good weight, the length spin dial is better than the one my old one.Much more sturdy.Set comes with blade oil, a little battery shaper/trimmer (not really interested in that but it is there) battery included))Hair guardBeard guardAlso comes in a pretty good snap lock plastic carry case. For the price, it's a steal.

Fits in a neat box, UK plug, one adjustable comb for hair
I went through myriad unknown Chinese brands and well-known brands to find this, and it was worth it. The end result looks good.I'll start with what's good about these Babyliss clippers compared to problems reported with others. First, the charger has a UK plug, not an EU 2-pin. Second, it has a hard plastic case. Third, it has just two combs, one for hair, one for beard.Getting started needs a 16 hour charge to get the battery properly charged, then you need to apply a few drops of the oil that comes with it when it's switched on.The length is adjustable with a twist, to a value in millimetres (mm). Look up online how that matches a UK grade to avoid surprises. It just flicks on and off with a thumb switch, and that's all there is to it.It dealt fairly well with my thick head of hair I'd grown without overheating, though it was necessary to stop and remove the comb to clear the hair every so often. It does come with a small brush for properly cleaning the blades. There's a small AA battery trimmer included too, for tidying up, which works well and is easy to hold for precision.I would have preferred a Li-ion battery, instead of NiMH, but at this price range that was a compromise.

Great clippers, few minor flaws
These clippers were a huge upgrade from my bog standard basic ones, but have a few flaws:The good - They shave really well, easy to adjust, nice and chunky to hold which I find a plus. Without the guard cut quite close without any problem which is excellent.Bad:- NiMH battery is a bit poor technology, hard to know when it's charged or what the battery level is, have to fully charge & fully discharge it to keep it healthy.- Can be used plugged in but strangely comes with a wall plug not a shaving plug, so I can't plug it into the bathroom socket I would have to plug it into the hallway and run the cable into the bathroom. Bonkers design choice.- To get the closest shave, you have to take the guard off. You can't adjust it unless you attach the guard. My old clippers didn't have a guard, it was just an all in one with a slider to adjust it.- Biggest worry - Taking the guard off is quite difficult, and it's a flimsy plastic guard which I worry will eventually snap but it's quite hard to remove it gently.Overall very pleased for the price, as long as the guard holds they'll be great.

Comfy, easy to use.
Feels well made. Easy to charge up. Carry case is a bit superficial.

Serviceable but could do better
Had I not previously owned a set of Babyliss clippers I think I may have been much less picky with this review. After 6 faithful years of service, a dying battery has forced us to get a replacement and, having been perfectly happy with our last set, decided to go with Babyliss again. I really wanted to love these new clippers but found myself racking up a list of cons whilst I was using them. Firstly, the size (see pic). They are significantly bigger but strangely lighter than my old clippers and a tad unwieldy in the hand. These are less nimble - much trickier to tackle the awkward spots around the ear (the clipper head is wider and chunkier) and I found myself having to scissor cut more of this area than usual in order to get in close. Also, the plastic guards are made of a completely rigid plastic so are rather unforgiving and tend to scrape rather than glide. What should be a smooth swiping action veers more towards a scrapey chugging along the skin. Furthermore, if you are swapping between the 2 guards frequently I'm not convinced that they will last that long before one of the arms that hold them in place snaps off. The design of the guard also means that the waste hair very quickly gets trapped underneath it so you keep having to stop mid cut to clear it out by taking the guard off completely. Not used the detailing tool yet - it seems a bit pointless and its addition is probably just compensating for the fact that the main clipper head is so big. However, these points aside, I love the fact that you don't need to swap clipper heads to achieve different grades and the blades themselves cut well. Also comes in a handy storage box. For £30 it is very much a case of 'you get what you pay for' (although strangely enough this was the same price paid for my last more superior set) After 2 uses it has more than paid for itself in barber costs. This is a pretty standard set of clippers which, if you are after a no frills basic cut, then for the price these are probably a good buy. However, if you are looking for something with a bit more finesse then I would be tempted to look elsewhere.

Does exactly what it's supposed to
Good product, great price. A few design flaws that should not be overlooked, but also should not put you off:1. The hair/beard length guards are a little flimsy2. If you remove the guard to do any trim work (or because you don't need a guard) then there are two holes down the side of the razor that are sure to gather bits of hair trimmings and sure to be difficult to clean out for hygiene.Other than that, the blade is good, the cut is reliable, and it charges quick.
