As a clinical psychologist (in training) I always encourage my clients to journal and to write. They view the task as tedious and exasperating and at times, especially in the beginning, do not understand the benefits. Since purchasing this item, I have noticed an increase, and overall joy in the journaling process. I would like to assume it’s because of the craftsmanship, beauty, and charm that this item holds.

I purchased this book because I’m taking up Letterboxing and want an attractive book for collecting the imprints of rubber stamps. The leather is of decent quality although rather thick. Since the book is moderately priced it is as expected. The plastic stone is very pretty. Mine has some brown flecks not just on the back, but within, like a lump of amber. I’m sure they vary by piece.The only flaw is something I don’t mind but you may. On my first page there’s a bleed of the cover design, as if they are closed up before fully dying.

So this is my 2nd leather journal from this seller. I purchased again because I really loved the soft, handmade, cloth-like paper in my first journal. Unfortunately, the paper was different in this second journal but still very thick and durable. The edges of the journal curl up but the leather is thick and durable. The embossing detail is beautiful. I like to write with the Pilot Precise V5 roller ball pens and it glides perfectly across the pages. The paper is really thick where you can also sketch and draw. You can even write on the back sides of the pages without fear of ink or pencil transferring or bleeding through. I carry my journal around a lot especially when traveling so the leather tie comes in handy to keep it closed. I'm a heavy journaler (is this a word. Lol) who hope to leave treasures behind for my descendants so I plan to use these for as long as they are available for purchase.

Stone is flats not as big as advertised and the lock mechanism is corroded. First page is stained

I bought this as a gift for an 8 year old girl so that she could have a journal to write her fantasy stories. It looks handmade and mysterious. She thought it was very cool. If treated gently, I think it will hold up.

Misread the description, expected something much larger in a 11x8.5" format, my bad. Paper seems of reasonable quality for what it is meant for. Otherwise, the "gem" is very cheesy plastic from what I can tell, and not even clear through and through. Front page was damaged by insides of the cover, both dye leakage and pressure imprints of leather lace work holding the "gem panel in place. Suggest the manufacturer includes some sort of liner or backing to inner front cover to prevent this. Locking latches appear to be cast plastic or some light pot metal material, but are properly placed and functional. Embossing of cover design in the leather is incomplete and fades in several areas due to insufficient pressure applied when embossing. Over all the product is mediocre in quality. Can not determine durability as I just got it. I would not gift this, I would not even purchase if better description and photos were available on item page. Anyway, these are my initial impressions ans observations of the item. Will not be returning it as I find returning items to be a hassle and not worth the time and effort for items like this.

I like the design but not how it came broken. This would make a perfect gift for some one who like wolves and writingIt also feels flimsy

I never leave reviews, but I felt the need to leave one for this product and business. They wrote me a beautiful message and it just meant the world to me knowing that it is a veteran owned business. Thank you for serving our country and I absolutely loved this product such high quality. It takes me back in time and I feel that anything I write on this journal will come true. It just feels magical

My second grader wanted a diary, and since he loves dragons I went searching and found this. He is absolutely delighted and keeps exclaiming how it "looks like an old fashion book." He writes and draws in it, and it seems to hold up well to marker. The pages are sturdy and well bound. The cover does look like it is coming apart slightly at the corners, but this could be because he sleeps with it at night and it gets carted around a lot. Overall, I'd buy another.
