Setup Easy and Works Perfectly
I have an Asustor 6604T NAS Drive but wanted to extend my Storage so I could easily use the MyArchive process for backing up my NAS to extended storage, then dismounting the drive and storing it. I am using the Extended Storage to cycle full backs to the 6 TB MyArchive drives.After plugging in the Extended Storage unit to Power and plugging the USB type C to my NAS, my NAS recognized it immediately and I was able to format and mount the drives. I can run Backups from my NAS to extended Storage drives or from my Computer directly to the extended storage drives. It is a very sweet configuration.

Really easy to use expansion
Once you have the power cord connected, just attach the USB cable from this expansion to the NAS and boot it. The NAS will recognize it and you'll see the new disks on ADM Storage Manager. Then you can create new volumes (but not extend those in the NAS). The only issue is with fan control. The expansion doesn't seem to sync with the NAS.

Asustor sending not new product
Should of went with synology. My product arrived unsealed with smudges on the case. When your buying an expensive item you expect it to be new not used.

Works, and easy to install
Purchased to add more drives to my AS6604T and works well and easy to set up with existing NAS. Seems to be pretty high quality, and have been running both the NAS and this expansion unit for a few months now without issue.

Not reliable at all.
It worked for about six months. Now its dead. Hardly used it. No tech support for it either. Dont buy this.

AS6004U - actually work, as described.
As I have the AS6510T main NAS unit, I added a separate Asustor USB Expansion unit AS6004U (4 bays) to test the Myback up feature, which seemed to work okay.I only have one concern, that I would like Asustor to hopefully address with the unit:1) While utilizing the Night Mode function on the AS6510T main NAS unit, the LEDs do mostly go off as expected, with a periodic glowing of an Orange LED, however, the LEDs remain on on the AS6004U unit, which I would expect to go off as well, when connected to the AS6510T unit.4) The unit has tool-less drive bay trays.
