Q: Would a size 8 be a good fit for someone who wears a Clarks shoes size 7.5uk - 41.5eu?

I’ve had several Karrimor walking shoes/boots and usually am 5.5 in other makes but I’ve had 6 in this make. However the pair I bought of this style I could have probably done with a half size smaller.

Q: Are they easy to clean? Can they be machine washed if needed?

Easy, to clean, stiff brush to remove dirt. Leather conditioner/re-proofer will keep them performing to their best for longer. Do not machine wash. If wet do not dry in/on direct heat (like a radiator), loosen the tongue and fill with newspaper.

Q: Are the soles quite rigid as I need a firm pair of shoes. Thanks

Yes they are. But the shoes are still not too heavy. This is my second pair ( the first have done many miles!).

As someone who wears a size 5 I’d say that they are a snug fit. So maybe the next size up might be wise. Hopefully someone who takes a size 5 wide fit will be able to give you more guidance
