The Man Who Gave Voice to Hanna Barbera
This is a great biography for anyone interested in classic cartoons and how television animation began. The humanity of the great Daws Butler comes through along with much joy for anyone who experienced his work (knowingly or not).A really enjoyable read!

A Loving Tribute to a GREAT Talent
Daws Butler was the best of the best, right up there with Mel Blanc and Paul Frees. I am prejudiced as he was a friend of mine (My name appears twice in this book, grossly mispelled both times.), but he was the greatest. When he died, it took over 30 actors to replace him. This book, written by a friend and student of Daws, while hardly literary, is a well-researched labor of love, and a fine tribute to one of the nicest men ever to be the very best at what he did. If you loved Beany, or Huckleberry Hound, or Yogi Bear, Captain Crunch, or the classic Stan Freberg recordings, you'll find the story of the man behind the voices to be a terrific read. If you weren't privelged to know Daws, this book is as close as you can come now to a visit with this kind, wise man.

One of the heroes of character voiceover
This is a comprehensive biography of one of the most prolific character voice over artists for radio and television, supplying voices for radio dramas and comedies in the 1940s, Beany of Beany and Cecil fame (the puppet), many Hanna Barbera characters including Yogi Bear and Huckleberry Hound, and Cap'n Crunch. (Really, a huge list of familiar characters.) He also gave instruction at minimal cost to many of the voice over artists to follow including Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson) and Bob Bergen (the current Porky Pig). A fine read about a first-rate artist and first-rate human being.

Daws Yogi Bear Butler
This is a good biograprhy about the man who did the voice of Elroy Jetson Capton Crunch Snagelpuss The fox in the Yakee Doo cartoons Huckleberry Hound and most famously Yogi Bear. He also did many others. Dasw Buler didnt do as many voices as Mel Blanc nor was he anywhere near as popular but this is still a good book. You should get it.

Wonderful insight into an incredible voice talent and actor!
Daws Butler should be placed on an even level with voice talent Mel Blanc. His is an incredible story of a wonderful actor who entertained millions with his voice work on Hanna-Barbera cartoons ... and so much more. Buy this book! You will be glad you did!
