PLATINUMFountain Pen, Plaisir Fine Nib, Green (PGB-1000-#41-F)

Great pen and easy to switch out the NIB with a cheaper Preppy that comes in the EF tip 0.2 vs the Fine 0.3 as the smallest. Really good pick to put inks that can be harder to clean like carbon black. So far I have just refilled the carbon black cartridges with the carbon black 60ml bottle and not needed to flush for 2 months. The ink has gaps of 7-10 between use and starts well. The ink if left uncapped (2min) does dry and can hard start. Yes it feels cheap because it is light, Get over that. 100+ dollar pens feel cheap when they are plastic or resin. TWSBI has great feeling resin pens vs my Pilots Gold nib Pilots.It does feel light and when the cap is on I feel its a bit more back weighted. Uncapped it is very light and great for those that like EF Japanese nibs. The Nib is steel and stiff which I find best for EF sizes. Right now I have one with Carbon Black and one with Diamine Ox Blood. I would pick this pen over the Pilot metro but not over the Pilot Prera. I use the existing cartridge to refill via blunt needle and syringe and it works very well. Great everyday carry that wont make you cry to lose.

Just received this pen today, let's start with the package, it looks great and it comes with a plastic box, so it looks somewhat professional. The pen is very shiny, but after pulling the cap on and off a few times the pen become a little loose (the part where you screw the head of the pen and the body together), no worry, just need to twist it tight again. Be careful not to twist it too tight, since it is made from plastic the casting might crack.Now the way it writes, this is a light pen, so it doesn't have the nice weight feel in your hand when you use it, this is a personal preference as I like a solid pen. The nib is suppose to be fine point but when I write with it the thickness of the lines feel more like medium to me. On with the writing experience, it write pretty nice, ink comes out very smoothly, the pen didn't exactly float on paper, I could feel a little scratchiness, but one a scale of 1 to 10, 10 been very scratchy and after you finish writing only about 10% of the ink was on paper, this rank about 1.5, so if your not as sensitive to writing you probably won't notice it.Oh, This pen does not take International size ink cartridge, at least not the one Monteverde makes. Even though I post the question to vendor and they told me it will take international size cartridge. I bought a few different color ink with International size cartridge only to find out that the opening is too small and it won't fit in this pen, I was disappointed, hence only 4 stars. Unless there are different international size, which would defeat the point. I'm hoping it would work with the Cross cartridges I bought that's not international size but looks like the right size.

The Plaisir is a solid, no frills, fountain pen. The nib is smooth, puts down a consistent line, and fits in the hand well.The major weakness this pen has is its overall value for money ratio. While the pen itself is great, it does not come with a converter. Please keep this in mind, as Platinum's converters are not the cheapest out there. If you look around at similar priced fountain pens, you will find many of them include a converter with them. There are a number of cheaper pens, that write as well, that you can purchase in combination with a converter and be under the price of the Plaisir too.

Pen did not come with cartridge as was indicated in the product description. Meaning I have to wait to use one of my other ink cartridges and then be able to fill this pen. Other than that, pen seems decent quality

Very well executed design. It is a Platinum Preppy in an aluminum casing. Very light, and feels good! The nib is very smooth. The medium nib is would be considered a broad Japanese nib. It lays all kinds of inks down well. In the past few weeks I've owned it, I've ran several different types of inks through it. I use it typically for drawing/sketching, but have done some note taking with it. I like the fact that you can remove the nib from the feed assembly easily. Only part that is a little hard to clean is the feed assembly itself, especially when ink gets trapped at the top. What I've found is soaking the feed assembly in a mason jar with dish soap, and shake it every couple hours. This is only necessary when changing colors, especially going from a dark to a light. I also purchased the converter for it, and that is also very easily cleaned; you can actually take the whole thing apart to relube the piston with silicone grease. I've run Noodler's (custom mixed) inks, Diamine, and Organics Studio through it with no issues. Very pleased with the pen. I'll likely purchase some Preppy's to use as eye droppers for custom mixed inks for large quantities, especially since I love the nib and feed rate.

I lost it for a year in my old recliner and it still wrote when found. It's crazy pretty, a great writer and apparently never dries out, lol.

Toto pero má velice přesný tenký hrot, nevysychá, je stále připraveno k psaní. Značka Platinum používá proprietární náplně, takže je třeba to vzít v úvahu. Tyto cartridge jsou ale z kvalitního plastu, s kovovou kuličkou která rozmíchává kvalitní inkoust.

Beautiful! Lovely flow of ink. My favourite pen. I have others which are far more expensive but not as enjoyable to write with.
