Very nice softbox with small flash units, be sure to purchase transmitter and reciever set and you can use them any way you care to. Nice even lighting. Bought two boxes and transmitter sets from cowboy studio and used them on a portait shoot the next day Very happy with the results. there not easy set up boxes however but no problem if you have ever set up a softbox before. Directions are very poor

I have been very pleased with this softbox. It works very well with my speedlight and is of good construction. One thing that is particulary good is that you can angle the light to an amazing degree without having to use a boom. On the bad size, they really need some better directions on which holes on the ring to use for the ribs. The web instruction helps, but it looks a little out of date. Also, I don't know that this softbox would do well if it was constantly assembled/disassembled. On the other hand, it's so light that I just toss it into the back seat of my truck assembled and transport it that way.

I was so excited when my Studio Flash Speedlight Softbox with GAD L Mount bracket Bowens softbox arrived today. I foolishly assumed that I could just set it up and go.... I was terribly wrong. I had to go online to cowboy studio's website to look up the product and find the video that shows you how to set it up because there are literally no instructions with the softbox. Upon trying to attach the "universal speed ring" to the GAD L mount bracket I discovered that the "universal speed ring" doesn't work with the bracket, in fact the "universal speed ring" is useless. I am completely dissatisfied with this purchase because it's literally unusable without the proper bowen speed ring. The display images show the set up with the correct speed ring and so I feel as though I have been a victim of false advertising. I am keeping the set up and buying the bowen speed ring from another vendor, it's less expensive to just buy the $20 part than return everything, lose money for return shipping and then have to pay more shipping to order directly from Cowboy Studios. I will never ever buy a cowboy studios product from amazon ever again, this is the SECOND time this has happened with a cowboy studios purchase from amazon.com If this review is read by someone at amazon.com I hope you look into this and I believe I should get a $20 credit back on my account. This is completely unacceptable, I am 100% dissatisfied with this purchase and I hope that nobody else purchases this item from this website because they will be ripped off!!!!! Also, for every crappy purchase experience I have I tell everyone I know and I facebook about how bad of an experience I had, so just know that I will be telling a lot of people some very negative feedback about this purchase.[...] - that is the website I had to purchase the bowen speed ring from (just in case anyone out there reads this review after you made the mistake of purchasing this item)

One of the flaps holding the Velcro was poorly stitched. The sewing did not even touch the material it was supposed to hold. I contacted Cowboy Studio Customer service and emailed them pictures that clearly showed the defect and asked that they replace the fabric part of my order. After 2 days, they said I would have to return the whole order to Amazon. Spending $10 and dealing with the post office to return a $60 item is not an efficient use of time and money. I put gaffers tape on the defective part and noted the experience with Cowboy Studio.

I was expecting a little better but overall it is just ok. It did not come with instructions so it took me about an hour to figure out how to assemble it (my first time to even work with a softbox) Once together I was afraid to take it apart as I thought I may not be able to get it back together. Also worried it might break after a few assemblies. 2nd assembly went well and it worked for some indoor shots. 3rd assembly one corner blew out.Once it is together is is quite nice, but I was pretty frustrated once I did get it together as I was not sure if I was going break it before I got to that point.

When I ordered this, I was expecting a collapsible soft box that would fit easily in my case. I was rather surprised and dismay to discover it used the rod system and a speed ring. That is the only draw back. To put the soft box together takes about 5 minutes, but once it is together (the first time be prepared to swear a lot) it works beautifully. The speeding allows you to turn from vertical to horizontal easily and so far have not found a speed light that it will not work with. The case is about 24 inches long and 8 inches wide. And you have the 4 metal rods, that the Cowboy soft boxes are famous for. Other then that, works well

Looks great...SOME INTRUCTIONS WOULD OF BEEN NICE TO BE IN THE PACKAGE TO HELP PUT IT TOGEATHER!!! I just might return this if no help is offered!!!!!!!

Just plain awful. This is beyond cumbersome and tedious. Probably the worst part about it is there are no instructions that come with the packaging and no logical way in which to assemble it. I can't imagine using this in any real life field situation, let alone a studio set up. Also, what's the point of including a carry bag if the softbox is clearly doesn't break down easily and therefore is not portable in any way?! What a waste of time and money. I got it today and it's going back tomorrow.
