Q: Purchased w 4x512 onboard for precisiontower 5810, put in 3.0x16 slot. bios/uefi sees 4 drives, win10 sees 1 drive, no boot, no way, help!

I have similar setup in a 7810 tower. Device manager will see for memory sticks, correct. In the partition manager you will see it as one big drive which you can allocate to one or more logical drives. On mine, I have two x 1tb drives. I use a seperate boot disk, but believe you can configure this to boot from once you get the partition created and formatted. From there, I think you would boot from a USB drive and tell it to install on the M.2. hope this helps!

Yes it works on 14th Gen servers. Place boot partitions on the IDSDM (sd card module), and then place your C: or / root partitions on the nvme.

Q: Can you use only two nvme drives? Or do you need to fill it with four?

I am just using 1 NVMe in mine. Pretty sure your are good to go as long as you have 4 PCIe lanes for each 1 NVMe drive.
