Best for smaller cats and needs bracing, but great for the price
Great cat tree, especially for the price. As others have noted, the base is small which makes it inherently pretty unstable, and you'll most likely need to brace it somehow. I positioned this next to a short, fairly solid piece of furniture, and used a cargo strap to loop around the furniture and secure it to one of the posts on the cat tree. That's been plenty adequate. You could also use a heavy sandbag across the base, or attach a furniture bracket (like the ones you'd use to prevent bookshelves from tipping over) to the underside of the middle shelf and attach it to the wall. You can find a method that works for you, just be aware without bracing of any kind your cat might find it too wobbly and unstable to use. My cat took awhile to start using this tree, but now she loves it. I've had a hard time getting my cat to scratch appropriate stuff (she's had like six different sorts of scratching posts but always goes for the couch instead), but she LOVES the posts on this and uses them often. She really likes to sit on the top shelf and get a high up view out our patio doors. She is a fairly small cat though, only about 8.5 pounds; if she was really big, I'm not sure she'd find the shelf size on this tree very roomy. My box was missing a piece, the very top platform wasn't there, but I didn't notice until I'd assembled everything else and I did NOT want to take it apart, rebox it, and ship it back to Amazon for replacement. Instead I contacted the company that makes it, Trixie Pets, and asked if they could ship just that individual part to me. They were super responsive and had it on the way to me the next business day. Overall I'm really happy with it, it's been holding up well and it's on about the same level of quality as cat trees I see in my local pet shops for 2-3x the price. I wish the base was bigger, as that's a pretty significant design flaw, but coming up with a way to solve that problem was easier than coming up with a lot more money to buy a different cat tree. :D

Great cat tree!!
I purchased this cat tree to replace the exact same one we bought a few years ago. Tatiana loves this tree!!! She sits on the top with her long legs hanging off and looks so funny. The scratching posts are sturdy and all of our cats use them daily as they stroll into our bedroom. It is sturdy but if bigger cats get excited and play on it, they can topple it over. But it is a great cat tree.

Excellent Materials, but Not Stable on Its Own
The two support posts alone are not sufficient to stabilize the tower. When my cat jumps onto it, the tower shakes quite a bit. To make it stable, I need to support both the right and left sides with other furniture, as shown in the photo. I did consider returning it; however, the posts are thick and the faux fur is very smooth and high quality, so I decided to keep it. If the post diameter had been 3 inches or less, I would have returned it. Most importantly, my cat loved it and climbed the tower immediately, so I feel it is a good match for my cat. For anyone considering this product, please note that additional furniture is required on both sides for support. It cannot be used safely as a standalone tower.

My kitty loves this cat tree!
I wanted a shorter height cat tree with 3 levels for my kitty. Also wanted the platforms to be big enough so she would fit, and feel comfortable. This cat tree is wonderful; height is great, 3 platforms are roomy and covered with soft faux fur. My kitty loves it, she uses her cat tree every day, plus she likes to scratch on the rope covered posts. Very easy to put together, all the parts were included. Price fit our budget. For extra support; so the tree wouldn't move around when my kitty jumps on it, I put 4 bricks on the bottom flat part to anchor the tree. Works great.

Really 3½ Stars
I adopted a new kitty this year and he started almost right away on using my brand new furniture as a scratching post. So I got this hoping he would like it better. And in short, he does. He uses it all the time. I almost never hear/see him using the furniture, but there is a down side. >>Pros: - Kitty loves the rope to scratch and soft shelves to sleep. - Looks good, no too hight, not too short. >>Cons: - No box to hide and sleep in. (didn't take any stars off for this since I new that going in.) - It tips over. Several other reviewers commented that the cat tree was unstable. First, you have to use a lot of elbow grease (good amount of torque) on the assemble bolts to keep the pieces from wobbling. But the base is just too small. My cat tipped it over twice while playing on it. He won't go up to the top shelf anymore. Good thing is, he still uses the scratching part and the lower shelf it cool. It's only when he goes all the way up that it starts to tip. I could put a weight on it, but then the bottom is used up. The bottom just needs a bigger base. I probably would not recommend this to someone because it tips and the kitty could get hurt, but I did not return it and it was good construction/material quality for the price. Just wish it did not tip so easily.

I was shopping around for replacement posts as I bought this cat tree 15+ years ago and found this for £33, so much cheaper than buying replacement posts of various sizes. Now I have spare everything. It's easy to assemble, and customise for my geriatric cat who still likes to climb and scratch but his arthritis is slowing him down. I feel very smug about my genius idea to get a replacement tree instead of replacement posts. And the cat likes it too. He doesn't care how I got it, he doesn't care about a lot of things I tell him.

Volle Akzeptanz, alles gut.
