when will your tea bags become plastic free

HI there! About 1/5 of UK Yorkshire Tea bags have now switched to a plant-based plastic called PLA, and we're aiming to switch the majority of the range by July 2021. PLA is sometimes called "plastic free" because it's plant-based and compostable in food waste and garden waste bins; however, we don't use that term ourselves.

Are the teabags bleach free?

The tea bag paper is whitened using a chlorine-free process. It's partly for quality (the brown colour can hide manufacturing issues like heat marks, which we want to pick up); and partly for flavour (natural wood pulp has variable levels of lignin in it, which has a detectable taste).

What are they expire date? I’m considering ordering a box to bring to my home country

The bags last for years. I order this to Scandinavia on a regular basis and it takes us about 1yr to 6 months to go through the largest size pack. As long as you keep the bag properly shut, in an airtight container and stored in a slightly cooler and dry pantry you should have no issues storing these for at least 1-2 years after expiration. The only danger with dry goods like these going "out of date" is that they will loose flavour overtime and may if stored incorrectly (too moist) develop a slight mold which in any case if they do spoil you will notice this straight away as they will develop a surface fuzz and a funky smell.
