I had used Batiste for years because it was the only dry shampoo that actually worked on my hair. Over the past year and a half I've become more conscious of what chemicals I put in and on my body so when my last bottle of Batiste ran out I tried finding a powder dry shampoo. I tried a few and none worked so I figured powdered dry shampoo wasn't an option for me.Then I found Captain Blankenship's organic mermaid dry shampoo and it's been a game changer! I sprinkle a bit into a small ceramic bowl and put it onto my roots using a small makeup brush. It's easy to get rid of the white patches that typically stick in one place using a makeup brush.It smells good, I've found an easy way to put it on, it's chemical free, and it keeps my hair grease free for SO LONG. I used it one morning and when I woke up the following morning, 24 hours later, I actually had to contemplate whether or not I wanted to wash my hair because it wasn't greasy at all. Other dry shampoos never worked that long on my hair.This is a great dry shampoo!

i used this for the last 4 days and got 2 extra days out of my hairstyle. normally i wash every other day, but this time i washed on the 5th day. it was due by then, but i was really pleased. i wish it was a spray rather than a powder, but the sprays contain toxic/ harsh chemicals and propellants- and this really honestly, is not hard. just get a big make up brush- or a lathering brush (like in an old fashioned barber shop) and it's pretty easy. i am not super keen on it's scent- which is a little rose-ish or soap like, but it's not bad. my husband liked it fine and it disspates throughout the day. in all i do really think this is a great product and i would buy it again in the future.

I had absolutely loved using One Love Organics Dry Shampoo for about a year. But when the company stopped making the product, I had to find a different dry shampoo. Enter Captain Blankenship! I purchased this because the ingredients are organic, simple and straight forward. However the two things I was not a fan of were the product texture and the scent. The product texture was powdery with gritty, hard, tiny little pieces, like sprinkles. I want to use dry shampoo without worry that I’ll have any white powder pieces remaining in my hair. Perhaps I had a bad batch or the product was exposed to moisture before arrival as I do not see similar issues with other reviewers. The scent was also not pleasant to me, but that is often a matter of personal taste. Overall, I was disappointed in this product’s performance and quality for the price and I had to send it back.

I wanted to love this, but it just didn't work well for me. I tried shaking it directly onto my hair, I tried shaking it into my hand and applying with my fingers, and I tried using an old makeup powder brush. This just didn't last long enough through the day. It also dried out my hair and scalp. No thanks!

The best thing about this dry shampoo is that it smells good. However, I have issues closing the bottle. As such, powder gets everywhere when I try to travel with it. I have fine, wavey to curly hair. I don’t think it targets areas easily and doesn’t work as well as other loose powders. don’t think it’s worth the price. Overall, I probably won’t buy it again.
