All new Xlerators units have a setting where you can change it to a high, medium or low heating setting. This would be on all units made after 2015. Allied Hand Dryer 1-800-535-4393

does it meet canadian standards?

Yes, it is UL certified and Canadian certified. Unless you live in the really HOT part of Canada however, you may want to consider the regular XL-BW which comes with heated warm air to both help dry your hands faster and keep you comfortable. Is it a 120V or a 220V? I do not see that specified

Excellent quality hair dryer. I prefer the Eco version because it is much cheaper than the version with the built-in heater. This is a direct fit replacement for the hand dryer at most in my facilities and I like the fact that I can swap out the internals without having to change the back plate
