Draft King Round Bolt On Single Flue Chimney Cover, Black Galvanized Steel

Bought the 10" diameter size, this is a very solid heavy gauge (the description cites it as 24 gauge, it's at least that) chimney cap. The bolts thread inward against steel bands that are not shown in the photos, so the bolts don't directly contact the chimney or flue itself, the bolts press the steel bands agains the outside of the chimney/flue. Super easy to install, just screw in the four bolts and it makes a firm fit that won't get blown off in windy conditions. The powder coating is comprehensive over all the surfaces, I expect this unit will last for decades, well worth a reasonable price for that, compared to the thin gauge caps from the big box shelves. I like this one so much I'm planning to buy another couple to replace our other chimney caps so they all match and I won't have to worry about any of them ever again! Couldn't be happier.

Seems very good quality, just be sure your flue outer diameter matches this product. My flue was 14.75", and it did not fit, until I used a recipro saw carbide blade to grind down the clay flue diameter. It's rated for marine environments, so hopefully it will survive the foggy coastal conditions. Wish they'd made a product between this size and the next one up (which from its product description also didn't sound like it would fit), but perhaps adding mortar or other filler (for the larger product) would have been easier than grinding down my flue (for the smaller one).

Easily installed, nice look, and decent price. But you do realize that I can't rate its sturdiness accurately because it was just installed. It may last for 10 years, and it may rust out in 5.

There was nothing that I disliked.The stainless steel looks great, easy to install (I used a ratchet) fit perfectly, and after several heavy rains, no water came in. The prices great and delivery fast.

Just as described. Well built and sturdy. I drilled a couple more holes and added some self-tapping screws into the chimney pipe to make sure it wouldn't come off - their design just pinches some tabs onto the chimney pipe, but it's up and it works.

I bought this product to stop embers from escaping a patio chiminea and starting brush fires. It works perfectly and I have the added bonus of not having rain drown my embers. Since the diameter was the same as the chiminea, the added purchase of legs was necessary to make sure the Flue stayed in place. It was all easily put together and installed in a couple of minutes, and has successfully weathered heavy rain and winds up to 60mph...real wind test will come next spring!

Used on 10” stainless pipe (6” interior). Very pleased with the quality and ease of installation.

Little loose on the flue but I think it is dizined to accommodate different manufacturers flue size
