I bought these five years ago, so it's probably time I reviewed them. My family loves these salt shakers; they're nearly ideal in design and are definitely the best household salt shakers we've ever had. (We use both for ordinary iodized salt -- one on the dining-room table, one in the kitchen.) They're easy to use, easy to run through the dishwasher, and easy to refill. And they do a reasonable job of preventing clumping ... most of the time. What they are *not* is "moisture-proof" or "humidity-free." We live in New England, and for *most* of the last five years these salt shakers have done an admirable job. But this summer, humidity was so fierce during multiday heat waves that even these clumped up solid and we had to add rice to the shakers to be able to use them at all. So don't expect these to be a panacea. They are, however, better than almost any other salt shakers you'll find.

A salt and pepper shaker for any picnic basket, RV, keep the spare in your car and fantastic for Florida where I now live. Salt draws the humidity from Florida air and you have to put rice in your shaker to keep it from turning into a lump. Well not me. The gift from a friend turned out to be the VERY BEST salt and pepper shaker I even owned. I keep mine right by the stove and not lumps. Now in my late 70's I can still thumb the shaker open and use with one hand. The lid springs down tight and with a cushioned seal, it seals up my salt and pepper to instant freshness and no dampness. Knock over the salt shaker when you put it in the cupboard... never again do you have spilled salt to try and clean up. If I had the money, I would put all my seasonings in these handy, sealing-them-self containers. Now I just give them as gifts. All my friends are happy to get them!

Was having trouble with other shakers and grinders clogging due to humidity in my home. So far, these are performing well.

These are very nice. I didn’t realize I would have to hold the lid open while using, but it also ensures that the lid is closed when you’re done.

Nice weight. The cap spring is easy to use. I live in NC where it tends to be very humid. Like the idea of the cap to keep dampness out of my salt especially. My only “ complaint” , I wish they came in a slightly bigger size. I am using them next to my stove.

Love these. I live in a high humidity area. Keeps salt loose and of course tops remain clean (no flies landing on top). Good size and they remind me of when I was a child and my mother used them. Kept kids from spilling. Lol

They look cute and the tops keep the moisture out.

These are brilliant, dry salt at last . They had to come from the US the only drawback why we can’t get them in the UK a country known for damp baffles me!

I have problems keeping table salt free running because of damp. These are doing the job beautifully. After a month of using them the salt is still dry and useable. Best gadget I have bought
