How to Heal the Sick Paperback – January 1, 2000

People may get sick for different reasons and they may find different approaches helpful. People also have different worldviews. The language, ideas, and techniques in this book will appeal to those who are comfortable with the Christian worldview and the way of labelling conditions and their causes, and who want to build and exercise faith like the miracle working disciples in the book of Acts of the Scripture.Faith healing has the elements of the power of suggestions and positive expectation. The causes of illness may be attributed either to something that the person did, or to external causes. If someone had a car accident, it may be caused because the person didn't pay attention or perhaps due to bad weather conditions or because someone hit the person. Since the Christian worldview interprets events through the battle between good and evil, between God and devil, Christians may say that "devil caused the accident" and such language may not appeal to non-Christians nor to many Christians. In Christian worldview Christ won the battle over the devil, or if you prefer Light has overcome darkness, and it is only a matter of the individual being willing to accept that the Light is even now present within him and that this Light is all-powerful and can heal any condition instantly - much like when you turn the light-switch in your room it instantly dissolves darkness.Thus the main process used by the miracle workers of the Acts and presented in this book is not through prayer, but instantly, by turning on that light-switch and commanding the health problem or whatever the issue may be to be gone. The faith building process would happen before and after - as the Scripture does say that one should pray without ceasing. However, the act of healing in itself is a matter of momentary realization that the all-powerful Light of Christ is already within and that within this Light there is no darkness.The authors share different methods for healing. The first one is by laying on of hands - making contact with the part of the body that is in need of healing. The more one is filled with awareness of the indwelling Light of the Spirit, the more effective he becomes as the healer. The healer here acts as a conduit for the Light of the Spirit, where through contact, through touch, he lets it transform whatever needs healing in the recipient. In later chapters, the authors share how one can use a cloth or any other material as a "point of contact", just like in Acts 19:12 "When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled."Another healing method mentioned in the Scriptures and by authors was using olive oil for healing. "And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them."This book also contains a chapter on casting out devils. While some Christians tend to attribute any problem to the devils, some have the gift of discerning the spirits or used "words of knowledge" (in essence the process consists of asking what caused the problem and being receptive to impressions and words that come to mind).The authors suggest that you begin with one method and if it doesn't work for you, you use another. Also, if you have a serious health problem, they suggest that you visit your medical doctor and if you are on any kind of medication do not stop using it until you consult with your doctor. You should also stick to healing until you obtain the healing.Some people may experience instant healing, some may need to use healing techniques longer. Even the same person may experience instant healing with one condition but may have greater challenge with a different health problem. Some healing may require a change in lifestyle. Some may require that we keep on purging our hearts and minds through forgiveness. Some may last longer so that we can develop new habits of living. Some may stick around to motivate us to keep praying.The authors do not claim to have all the answers and they are merely sharing techniques they have found to work for them and suggest that you experiment with them, and keep building your faith and use it alongside the common sense. Your faith may waver over time and if you keep feeding your mind with faith-building ideas, your faith will tend to grow; if you keep stop feeding your mind with faith-building ideas your faith may begin to diminish.Faith healing is based on the premise that your ability to heal yourself is not based on your own power and strength, but on your willingness to surrender your problem to the Higher Power and let that Power that can and knows how to heal anything, express through you. The process requires humility, humbleness of one's ego and acknowledging that Infinite Power of the indwelling Spirit. The ultimate purpose of healing being not only to get rid of the physical illness but the transformation of the individual into a willing instrument for the expression of the Light of the Holy Spirit. The more one practices communing with the Holy Spirit and aligning one's life with it, the more power flows through the individual, the more he grows in faith and the more likelihood of him experiencing instant healings.

When you have a sick family member this is a powerful reference guide to know how to help them.

This book is great for someone that feels led into the healing ministry. Charles and Frances Hunter have a proven record that their system works. Praying as God would have them. I like the fact that there is an alphabetical area for praying for specific conditions. Always allow Holy Spirit to lead.

What an inspiration this book is! I have now got 3 copies and my family is going to read it out loud together. There is so little teaching on healing out there. This book reminds me of Jesus’ words in Mark16:17-18, These signs shall follow them that believe….they SHALL lay hands on the sick and they SHALL recover!

It was an easy read teaching by god’s anointed authors. It has more details of what actually happened while laying hands on believers who were affected by evil spirits. God is real!!!

This book is amazing. It is well written and easy to understand. When reading it I literally get goosebumps and feel the power of God inside my soul. It opened my eyes about God and healing a lot.I think every Christian should have a copy of this book in their library. I have already ordered one for my family member. I am so glad that I have this book. Thank you Jesus !!!

Worth reading and employing it’s advice.

One day I was sitting at work and was browsing YouTube and Charles and Frances popped up on my screen ( a divine appointment I would say , as I started to watch the video the holy Spirit set me on fire my my toes to the top of my head went on fire ( hearing God's voice ) and I said God do You want me to buy this book and wow did I go on fire . I started reading this book ( ebook)and as I was reading tears started rolling down my face from reading what God had done with signs, wonders and miracles.This book built my faith up so much that I am able today to show people God's love he has for them . Since I have read this book I not only could grow out my own hands by the power of God but to speak to the mountain and it has to obey . My son had a sore back and I told him to sit down and commanded his back to align and his foot was shorter than the other , when I did this his foot aligned with the other foot . I have faith that moves mountains Glory to God through my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ . I don't even have to be touching a person they could be have way across town and when I give the command in Jesus name their arm would grow outSame thing in the church I go to I stood up infront of the people and told my hand to grow and boy did it ever. I start by showing people that the power of God lives in me and wants to heal them and when I grow out my arm it builds their faith to receive the healingHallelujah

This book totally helps you in knowing how God work’s especially in the area of healing.It tells us not to doubt and just believe and trust in Jesus for a healing.It’s as simple as that!!A must read !!

I am glad to have discovered the teaching of Charles and France Hunter. This is the most helpful teaching on healing that I have ever read (including John Wimber!). The Hunters practised and taught on healing extensively and have shared what they have learnt. I hope that myself and many others will continue to benefit from their teaching and put it into practice, for the glory of God.
