'The Little Rippers' are a children's ski team and this is an adventure tale of children who like to ski. The author, Rebecca Munsterer, gives us a fun story for children from 4-80. The story grabs you and pulls you in, we all want to know what happens next. I found it a wonderful read for me, and I am anxious to read it to my four year old granddaughter. Any action adventure is a real plus for our active children.Molly and Max Beckett were visiting their grandfather in Vermont for the weekend. Their parents were going on to Montreal for their own weekend fun. This was the one weekend of the year, Max and Molly got to ski. Their grandfather lived next to the ski mountain, and he was such fun to ski with. And, grandfather made the best buckwheat pancakes with real Vermont maple syrup!Molly and Max find their weekend plans skiing with grandfather go awry. However, their adventure on the mountain with other children is exciting and so much fun. The children meet new people and one mysterious man is very helpful. There are many lessons to be learned, and the children, who are bright and energetic, put all these lessons to good use.'The Little a Rippers' is one of those books that give us a good feeling about each other. Problems develop, but answers are quick to come to the fore. The writing is superb, easy to read and flows so well. The storyline is one everyone should enjoy. The illustrations by Ryan Hueston are bright and colorful, and give us some insight into what the characters look like, and the joy they have while skiing. Perfect for a read aloud for young children and an independent read for children able to read a leveled reader about Level M-P. There is action and a fast enough pace to keep them wanting to read more. The author has clearly skied and this is reflected in the accuracy of ski terminology. My children are on a ski team and definitely connect with the plot.The four star review because:The printed book is oddly missing page numbers. ???The quality of the pages and binding are otherwise great.From a writing perspective, I do think the plot is great, but it would sit better with more details and figurative language about setting and character development. I miss them in their absence, but my child does not seem to mind. He likes the action so much so that he is begging me to keep reading to finish the story. We will likely read the whole book in just 2 sittings!!!We definitely recommend this book and we will be buying the second volume.

So excited to find a kid’s adventure series about skiing! My 9 year old is dyslexic and has a hard time finding books to keep her interest, but she couldn’t put this book down. We searched and searched for chapter books that had her favorite snow sport intermingled within. Thank you!

My 7 year old loves these books and my 9 year old can't resist them either!

We loved this book. My 6 year old son would not put it down and would stay up at night to try to get through another chapter. The story is great and exciting for my 6 year old while at the same time teaching some important lessons. My son is a skier and loved reading a story about other kids who loved skiing just as much as he does. Lastly, we made Grandpa Jacks Lumberjack Pancakes and they were delicious.

This book is an absolute treasure! I bought the book for my son and he loves the story! He cannot get enough of the characters and storyline and looks forward to more adventures of these LITLLE RIPPERS! He himself cannot wait to hit the slopes !! (He has never skiied before and now wants to more than ever!)What a perfect book for children of all ages! Do yourself and your children a favor and purchase this book! You will surely not regret it!
