Good, consistent boomerang
Pretty good boomerang. If you're used to wood, this one seems small and quite light, and because of its weight it'll be more affected by wind conditions. But it flies quite well, and consistently. Because of its light weight, it also won't smash your fingers to a pulp when you try to catch it. Have to play around with release angles and elevations to see what works best. If aimed low, it likes to rocket up and then swoop down toward you as it comes around, whereas if you aim high, it does a typical smooth arc but may finish its flight too high above. Also, remember that spin speed is more important than a mega hard throw, so make sure it gets a good flick as you release it. Rotation speed seems to differ depending on which leg I hold; I found best results throwing it like the guy does in the video, holding left leg with the right leg pointing backward. Maybe you get more "snap" that way? Construction seems decent too, it's glass-reinforced plastic like your power tools. But it is thin, so avoid landing on concrete or it might shatter. That applies to all boomerangs though. Also, lmao@ the reviewers who claim it doesn't work. Are they seriously not able to figure out how to throw one? It's not exactly rocket science.

I'm just a beginner
Great durable boomerang. Good price too. I made the mistake to try it on the street my first couple of trows and it slammed straight down and it didn't break. So its a survivor! When I finally made it to the field it only took me a couple of trows to catch it. It made me feel like a pro even though I'm far from it.

flies well, nice beginner option
This is my first boomerang. I'm really surprised by how well it works considering I have zero experience. It definitely does come back when you angle properly according to the wind. I expected it to have more of a flat, circling, arc... but mine tends to climb up and return to me with a somewhat steep dive. Totally makes sense to me why a lot of people throw with gloves on. Catching it feels amazing from an accomplishment standpoint but can hurt quite a bit on the physical side. The area outside my home is just big enough to throw, thankfully, but it does require much more room than expected. A park is the ideal spot. Wouldn't recommend throwing this on blacktop or rough areas as it does seem like it will easily scratch. A couple of my early throws have landed with some hard contact but the boomerang remained intact, so that's nice. With practice I'm sure my return rate will get to a higher level, but I'm very pleased that I was able to complete some perfect tosses already. I'm confident in the boomerang's shape and construction, so I know any errors right now are on my end. Manuel Scheutz definitely knows his craft and has developed a stellar design. I'm interested in trying different models in the future; it's fun! The price seems a bit steep but everything's expensive these days. I'm not sure anything cheaper would provide such good results. For now I'll be trying to get my money's worth out of this... which should happen unless I happen to crack or lose it. A very satisfying purchase overall

Best Boomerang for Beginners and Experienced Alike
Full disclosure, I'm about 15 hours into throwing boomerangs. I wish I had bought this first, as it is far easier to throw properly, and is more forgiving for throws that aren't perfect. It travels farther than a fast catch boomerang and is easier to throw hard and apply proper spin to due to the weight and balance. My tips are to throw it at a slightly upwards trajectory (maybe 30% vs. the horizon), relatively straight, and make sure it has enough spin on release, it is very important. Also keep the wind on your left cheek, and make sure you have the proper side facing you. Wear both eye protection and gloves, it is easy to lose it in the sun and boomerangs in general can cut up your hands if they hit with enough speed. Have patience, and watch some instructional videos online, as well as following the good directions Colorado Boomerangs sends with these. If you find it isn't reaching you on the throw, throw it slightly higher and make sure there is enough spin, which is very important. If it keeps going back too far behind or in front of you (making a "4" instead of a circle), check the wind direction and throw more to your right. If it is too windy, put the boomerang away and fly a kite instead, because anything over 9 mph or so will blow it all over the place. Check out my video here for it in action.

Difficult to learn and question safety of use.
Tried and tried learning to use boomerang with my son. Was never able to safely have the boomerang return to us. For us it was a fail and waste of money.

Takes many many practices
It's not as simple as it's described. The actual maneuver is only successful once out of every several attempts

Throwing away $20
This is a flimsy piece of a trash. First, if you intend on giving this as a gift, the packaging is embarrassing. You'll want to take it out of its wrapping to make a better impression. The actual boomerang is flimsy, small, and entirely unimpressive. Functionally it's just a piece of plastic you'll throw into the wind. You'll use it once before it ends up in a landfill. Save your $20.

Very good but little bit too hard for my children 7 years old. I recommend

This is a fantastic boomerang and it will come back. The instructions that come with it may not be sufficient, further online research is recommended. Boomerangs are hard. There is a steep learning curve. I had a lot of difficulty with this in the beginning but now I'm getting the hang of it. You need to throw it in an open field with grass, no trees or buildings nearby. Boomerangs aren't intended to hit anything hard, they're delicate. Ignore the bad reviews that say it doesn't work or it isn't durable. They're doing it wrong and they're blaming the product instead of themselves. When you do it correctly, it will come back everytime.

Just received them. Wanted to make sure everyone gets a size idea of how big and thick they are. Haven’t tried them yet, but certainly will update on how these fly.
