This is an excellent knife. The price is about as fair as you can get.
You will not see too many products that have earned so many 5 star reviews. There is a good reason for the reviews in the case of this knife. It is worth the price asked for it, and then some. As many of you know, knives are an item regarding which many people feel cheated when they consider the price they paid. For example, I recently purchased a Protech godfather automatic knife for about $200.00. I was very displeased about the way the knife blade was ground: one side of the knife was ground at a different angle from the other side, making it impossible to get a consistent edge on the blade. It would have cost me $30.00 to ship the knife back to Protech in order for them to make a decision as to whether the knife was really as crappy as I claimed. Rather than wasting money on the useless Protech knife, which really is the junkiest knife I have ever seen, I decided to spend $30.00 on this knife. This is an infinitely better knife than the Protech knife. The handle is durable and the blade is strong and both elements are made from materials that have proved themselves over time. The Protech knife has a crappy anodized aluminum handle, a misshapen blade, crappy little baby screws that hold it together and I have read in a number of different places that if you should be so unfortunate as to drop the Protech knife, there is a good chance the blade will break off at the tip. I am so satisfied with this Eafengrow knife that I have decided to throw the Protech Godfather knife in the trash. It really does look like something that belongs there.

Easily worth 30 bucks!
As others have reviewed, the quality of this knife is on par with lots of much higher priced knives from even established manufacturers. The blade had a very slight curve along its length, though barely noticeable, but the tip was still centered within the linerlock when closed. For $30, it doesn't bother me. I chose the natural G10 (sea green) color, which I feel compliments stainless steel metals, and the fit / finish quality is wonderful - as is the blade.I just tested the Rockwell hardness with our company's calibrated equipment and am measuring 59-60 RC. 60 is typical for D2. With the linerlock disengaged, there is absolutely no blade-play what-so-ever. The blade rotation is completely smooth through its range as if pivoting on a bearing. The blade came sharp enough to shave hair off my arm. I have large hands and this knife fills my palm - providing a comfortable grip to perform just about cutting task within its limitations of design and strength.Final opinion: For thirty bucks, don't hesitate! I have shown it to several co-worker knife enthusiast and they all agreed with the amount of quality for a $30 import. Some have already placed orders for these inexpensive EDC's instead of carrying their pricier alternatives. FWIW...

OK for the price-point but needs improvements.
This is a large folding knife, has some weight and feels solid in the hand. I like the blade shape and it takes a great edge. The blade pivot is super-smooth and blade retention is good when folded-closed, won't shake-open. Has nice jimping for a thumb-rest. The blade is centered in the handle and locks-up solid with no play or wobble. Now the dislikes - it has a one-position pocket clip for right-hand carry only, the spine of the blade has rounded corners which makes it useless as a fire-striker, the scales have some sharp edges that require fine-sanding, only 50% of the liner-lock edge engages the back of the blade - can be pushed-forced over to about 90%. The G10 scales have been buffed to smooth (slippery) for such a large knife - needs more texture for a better/solid grip. Overall - this knife seems more like a prototype-design with no specific purpose in-mind - with improvements could be useful as an outdoor/camping/hunting/bushcraft knife - or at home in a factory/shop environment. Until then it's an unfinished work-in progress looking for a role to fill. If you're going to put a nice large D2 steel blade in a handle, then finish the trim and give it a purpose in life (and adjust the liner-lock for a better more secure fit).

Absolutely insane value!
This is my first Eafengrow purchase after seeing a few reviews online. Quality of this thing is top notch, I've had knives 10 times the price that aren't as smooth and well finished. The blade is perfectly centered when it's closed, it's super smooth opening and closing, the scales are really nice (jade G10), the weight is nice, and all the hardware is in perfect shape. It's definitely bigger than it looks in the pics, but it's on par with my other bigger folders. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and will be looking at other models as well.

Strange Design For a Folder
This is definitely an odd design for a folding knife if you plan on using the knife for anything other than cutting tape to open boxes. The clip has only one position you can set. I bent the clip on the first day wearing it. I also tore out the treaded fitting for one of the three screws holding the clip in place on the first day owning the knife. After looking further, the threads are glued into the handle material. The ball bearings...there's a detent that is *VERY* pronounced on the knife when trying to open or close the knife. It feels like a safety feature since the knife is so sharp from the factory and your knuckles could easily get in the way of the knife closing. That makes closing the knife seem really clunky. I'm comparing to an Ontario RAT-1 that I've been carrying as an EDC for 6 years or so, which is close to the same price-point as this knife. The reason I was interested in this knife was 1. ball bearings, 2. D2 steel, and 3. the handle material. Overall, the only thing that I'm still impressed with is D2 steel, all the other parts are kinda meh.

perfect for the day to day
simple if you're comfortable with flippers this will be a great knife for you. it's easy to open and close one handed keeps a fine edge and holds it pretty well I've only had to strop it once so far in the last six months. Ergonomics are good some people may not find it comfortable I have large hands and it feels good to me. Handle has some grip to it but i's not too much either to bite a strong grip.
