Not concept art, but as good
The media could not be loaded. This isn't the concept art book I imagined or was expecting. This isn't a concept art book at all.Star Wars Art: Visions is more of a fan art book, except the 'fans' here are some of the best illustrators around. Think Moebius, Alex Ross, Syd Mead, Julie Bell and Boris Vallejo, H.R. Giger, Peter de Seve and James Christensen. There are 93 guest artists in all. Wow!George Lucas has invited all these fine artists to create art for Star Wars, in their own style and interpretation. You'll see art from all sorts of styles, ranging from impressionist to manga to Picasso, punk(?), collage and more. The book itself is huge, and the prints are large. You can see the details of the brush strokes and all. And most of the paintings are created traditionally. The subjects are pretty cool, especially the more different ones like Kermit the Frog fishing with Yoda (from Peter de Seve), or the manga Leia which looks like she's from an alternate universe, or (gasp!) a nude Aayla. This is a great collection of quality art. Easily recommended to any Star Wars fan.(There are more pictures of the book on my blog. Just visit my Amazon profile for the link.)

A Must Own For Star Wars Fans
This is a book that is a must own for all Star Wars fans, particularly one who enjoys its vast history. The book is a collection of art from a collection of many fantastic artists that give their own interpretations of characters/places. If you can find a few of the photos that are inside the book, you'll understand immediately why it is a must own. Every page is a visual delight to look at, and would look great on your wall if they were to every release the pictures as posters.

Would make a great coffee table book for any Star Wars fan!
Really nice large-format art book of pre-Disney Star Wars paintings and drawings, with a foreword by George Lucas. Head's up to parents: some of the art is a little racy, including an image of a topless reclining Ayla Seccura. Still, if you're an adult and you want to see some really cool art (and Jedi bewbs), you can't go wrong wit this book. Would make a great coffee table book for any Star Wars fan!

Worthy of the franchize.
There are some fantastic paintings in here. Others aren't all too great, in my opinion. But overall this volume is a worthy celebration of Star Wars, and makes for a purchase most Star Wars fans would be very happy with. I'm already looking forwards to a "Visions II". There are certainly many more artists out there I think could featured in this sort of project. For instance I'd love to see what a Mike Mignola Darth Vader would look like. Also found it odd that nothing from Adam Hughes is in this.

Wonderful Gift
I got copies for two of my closest friends, one of which is a huge Star Wars fan and general film enthusiast, and the other is a mid-level Star Wars fan and general art enthusiast, and they both loved the book.It is sorta ill-mannered on my part, but I read through one of the copies before I gave them to my buddies on Christmas, and man, was I impressed. There are some beautiful pieces featured in this book.I may have to find more time to hang out with my friends and check out their copies again!

better than expected
This was better than expected. What a great variety of artists and styles. Loved the large piece near the center of the book. There are 4 pages dedicated to that piece by Stephen Early where I can even see brush strokes. Tony Ryder and Darren Kingsley's pieces are also amazing. Very nicely designed art book and I am surprised the cost of the book is so inexpensive.
