I love it. I've done about 3 of the tutorials in the book so far! (need more free time)The instructions are easy to follow. The book is more about teaching you to explore rather than to 'paint this object this way.'This will really help to find your niche in the art world and what your style is :)I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to explore acrylics but feel they may need a bit of guidance.I will be buying the new book soon! Just want to finish working my way through this one!

A beautiful book with clear, concise instructions. I am my harshest critic but, even though this was my first venture into mixed media painting, I was happy with my finished projects. Mimi is a wonderful artist and so inspirational. With this book and her You Tube videos even I didn't go wrong. Fun in every page and recommended to all.

I have many art books but I absolutely love this one. It covers all my favourite things - colour, stamps, stencils, washi tape & patterned paper - all in one book. The photos and resulting paintings are beautiful and colourful. Mimi's instructions are clear, simple and easy to follow. There are lots of different techniques to try in 6 different lessons. So glad I found this book :)

I was disappointed with the quality of the book, the pages were really not good, compared to all my other art books. The content was better but still not quite what I had hoped for. I think I should have looked at google images first to get a better idea before buying.

I was already familiar with Mimi's style and the book did not disappoint in providing detailed instructions for achieving vividly colourful art. I particularly liked the unusual 'handle' of this book. I will definitely be attempting some of these projects.

brilliant book for anyone interested in art journal painting or starting out on canvas. Gives step by step directions on how various effects can be created and written in a friendly style.

Was a present for a friend, so not seen it myself, but she said it was great. Very helpful.

I have to say that I'm not sure about the content of this book, as it was unappealing to look at; the cover was okay, but the paper and printing inside was aweful, cheap and nasty. Every page was filled with the same colour pallet, what a shame! Not a book to keep.

Foto passo passo corredate di istruzioni. Unica pecca la qualità della carta sulla quale è stampato... sembra carta dei giornali quotidiani.

Das Heft ist sehr unübersichtlich, man kann wenig erkennen und somit auch nicht viel lernen.Die fertigen Bilder sind sehr hübsch aber man nicht nachvollziehen wie sie entstanden sindalso wenig lehrreich.Die Papierqualität ist mäßig, und auch sonst ist das Heft eher unübersichtlich.Also ich würde es nicht empfehlen

This is a great book both for beginners and for anyone who wants to learn how to make a multi-layered background. She also has a few examples, complete with step by step instructions, of art journal pages with focal points, including the one on the cover. What makes this book unusual is that it really does have step by step instructions for all of the pages shown in the book.When you are just starting out, either in mixed media, or in learning a new technique, it helps to have step by step instructions. There is only one bad review of this book at the present time, and the author of that review is correct that if you are copying someone else's work, you aren't being creative. But what you are doing is learning. So if you want to learn, this is a good book for doing that.I, by the way, have owned the book she suggests instead, and it is also a good book in its own way. I drew my first face from that book.

Very good book, different projects, with step by step instructions and photos to go with instructions.
