First time using thinset
I used this to adhere 110 sq ft of kerdi membrane to drywall in my shower and bath remodel. Make sure to mix it with a mixer and follow the mixing instructions EXACTLY. German efficiency I guess. I mixed it with the highest amount of water and it turned out perfect. I was a little worried about doing it right, but the college of YouTube was very helpful. Easy to work with, and I was at it for a couple hours. Turned out great. Will use this brand again to do my tile work.

Quality install requires quality materials
Worked as stated by the manufacturer - a little pricey but so was the tile I installed. Good value - feel good knowing the job was done right and will not need to be reworked.

worked great!! Very creamy!!
this is my first tiling job and schluter products made it so easy. The all set mixed up so nice and creamy. I used it to apply the Kerdi membrane to the drywall around my shower and I had no problems at all. I mixed half the bag at a time and used the 3 and 1/4 quarts of water since a whole bag calls for 6 1/2 quarts. I found after my first batch that it could stand to be a little thinner to hang the Kerdi membrane so I used 3 1/2 quarts and it worked great!! I will be ordering more to do the tiles and normally buy everything on Amazon, but I have found it somwhere else for half the price.

Excellent product
A must buy for the schluter tile and underlayment products. Bought this to install the ditra-heat which is an awesome system.

Works
If you want Schluter's warranty, you have to use this. As someone else said, if there is a distributor in your town, you can find it cheaper there.Other than that, it works fine. Open pot time is probably 90 minutes, at least it was for me at 65 degrees and average humidity. Make sure you follow the mixing directions.

Excellent thinset - but pricy
I am in the middle of a major mast-bath re-tile job, placing both 12X12 Saltillo floor tiles and 2X2 mosaic. I have now used both the modified & unmodified. They are the best I've ever used. I work slowly and take great care as I tile. Most tile guys don't. This thinset has a long open time, if you mix it slightly runny but still holding a trowel notch you will do fine. By long open I mean - 2.5 hrs. before it start to dry, which can be fixed with a spray bottle if needed. It sets up slowly and when its set, its set like a rock.Experiment a bit and see what consistency you like, I prefer a bit runny - quick dry leads to bad adhesion and I'm not in a hurry to make a mistake. Back-butter large tiles and they will stay put. Use a corded power drill (not battery, unless you want to smoke it) and a mud mix paddle. Let it sit 10 minutes and mix again. Why only 4 stars - in a word - price. The stuff is ridiculously expensive and I had to have it shipped. I see no reason for a powdered cement mix (even one as good as this) to cost this much. Schluter products are all excellent quality and easy to use but V-expensive compared to big-box retailer products.

Great thinset for tiling walls in bathroom
Works great! Thats all i can say. If you think its expensive then you dont want quality product. It holds very while when using a thin layer of thinset behind tile. It holds great when using for wall tile no slippage. Worth every penny.
