The original from Japan, delicious!
I love that this is the original sauce that I purchased with the original batter from Japan. This sauce should last for a while because you don't use a whole lot. It tastes great, I'm glad I got the original and may try their spicy sweet one another time. In the restaurants they have kewpie Japanese mayonnaise and I didn't want to purchase that separately so I just used my Veganaise mayonnaise the first time and then started eating them without it. If the mayonnaise gets mixed with the sauce it taste just like a McDonald's burger to me lol It's a great healthy way to get cabbage in your diet and a half a cup of the batter mix creates two giant pancakes,, so even though the bag looks small it makes more than you think. I used to go to Japan and they had okonomiyaki restaurants we would go to there. I don't have to worry about asking to not have Bonito flakes on top when they're homemade. Everybody I've made them for goes crazy for them!

Elevate the umami!
I use this Otafuku Okonomi Sauce to make incredible vegetable pancake creations, and it absolutely completes the dish. The umami flavor is unbelievable — rich, savory, and just the right amount of sweetness. It’s a must-have if you enjoy Japanese-style cooking or want to elevate your veggie dishes!

If Worcestershire sauce and BBQ sauce met and had a delicious baby...
My daughter recently returned from Japan and wanted to replicate some of the easier dishes at home. She will cook up an egg with some shrimp cracker thingies, and drizzle with this sauce over the top. Quick and delicious. This sauce tastes sort of like a cross between Worcestershire sauce and BBQ sauce. It's delicious.

Otafuku Okonomi
This is good stuff. Yummy goodness on broiled, roasted or grilled foods, either vegetables or meats including fish. Makes for tasty burgers or bean cakes, tacos, burritos, lots of possibilities. A little goes a long way, or use more if thats how you like it. This okonomi sauce, and Kewpie mayonaise, are nice condiments to keep handy in the kitchen, along with hoisen and bean paste and similar sundries. This is a nice blend of fruits and spices, dates being the primary base. I also use it in various marinades and brines. For example, I brined a 9.4 lb organic free range turkey for 24 hours in 4 quarts of vegetable stock, 2 quarts water, and 2/3 of a bottle of Otafuku Okonomi 17.6 oz, and a table spoon of tuscan blend herbs and herbes de provence and a sprig of rosemary. Then roasted low and slow in a roasting bag. Wonderful flavor. Works well with quail, duck, or goose too. Its good in vegetarian dishes. I use it in a few vegetarian burrito and enchilada recipes, and also with roasted vegetables. The dates in this impart a nice subtle umami.

Tasty on Okonomi, those great Cabbage Pancakes
Perfect topping for those veggie bin clean-out breakfast treats, which also make hitting 5-a-day veg servings easy. We like them so much we keep a bag of ready made slaw on hand

If you're thinking about it, buy it.
I'm obsessed with this sauce so I ordered two and will likely be ordering 2 a month for the rest of my life lol. This sauce is the best Okonomiyaki sauce I've ever had. And it goes great on everything!! I use it for fried keto chicken nuggets as a substitute when I'm out of katsu sauce and it's amazing. This sauce goes great on anything really. It's a savory, sweet, umami-style flavoring that makes a great pairing with meat. 100/10, if you're thinking about it, buy it.

Vorwarnung an alle.

Sehr ausgewogen süß-sauer. Äußerst fruchtig. Ein MUSS für Okonomie Yaki. Meine Lieblingsspeise.
