Smooth and Gentle – A Must-Have!
I’ve tried several electric shavers over the years, but the Phillips SatinShave truly stands out. It’s incredibly gentle on the skin, leaving no irritation or redness, which is a huge plus for sensitive areas. The shave is smooth and precise, and the device is surprisingly quiet compared to other shavers I’ve used. The design is sleek and ergonomic, making it easy to hold and maneuver, even in tricky spots. Plus, the battery lasts longer than expected, and charging is quick and hassle-free. Cleanup is also a breeze, thanks to the detachable head. Overall, this shaver delivers salon-quality results in the comfort of your own home. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, gentle, and efficient electric shaver. Will definitely be repurchasing!

Life-saver! Sanity-saver!
So, ladies… you all know those tv commercials for razors where a lady with beautiful and hairless legs puts on shaving cream and then shaves her hairless legs? Like, why are they even showing us that?! She literally shaved nothing. She had hairless legs! That’s not gonna make me wanna buy that razor! Show me a wildly hairy leg and shave THAT and make it smooth and I’ll be impressed! Well, today, I share with you my wildly hairy and actually accurate portrayal of how true leg shaving commercials should be. I have PCOS and hypothyroidism so I’m just incredibly hairy. It is so incredibly annoying and hard. I mean. Hair. Everywhere. Dark. Thick. Coarse. Grows in all sorts of weird directions on my legs too. My arms, legs, belly, and chin just sprout hair like a chia pet. It’s bad. But the problem is I just get so overwhelmed with it. Shaving with a regular razor and shaving cream ALWAYS ends with terrible razor burn for me. So then I get grumpy and neglect shaving my legs for a month and then I end up with what you see in the video. Waxing is just torture. Creams like Nair and Veet burn and smell and end up giving me a rash. It all makes me want to cry and being so hairy makes me feel like less of a woman. I don’t even really need to have a super close shave to where it’s incredibly smooth. I just want to not look and feel like Chewbacca. Ya know? And even if I use a good razor and good shaving cream, the razor gets clogged up with my hair and gets dull before I even finish the bottom section of one leg. And I know if I kept up with shaving at every shower then the clogging and dulling probably wouldn’t be an issue, but it still gives me wicked razor burn and I just can’t deal with it. I wasn’t expecting much from this because it was so inexpensive. But oh my gosh. I wish I would have recorded doing my lower leg. It removes the bulk of my hair after one swipe! Quickly, effortlessly, painlessly!!!!!! What would take me twenty minutes in the shower took me like two minutes with this razor, and without clogs or razor burn. Now, I will say that just going over it gently like that does not give a clean/smooth shave. Buuuut if I apply pressure with the foil part it gets super duper close to being a smooth shave. This is so amazing! It was worth every single penny!!!!!

Good for the price
This product achieves varying levels of success depending on what you are looking for. I have a variety of hair types on my body, and this worked differently on each. The details are below. Fine and relatively short hair (probably blonde): I have lots of this hair on my body and this trimmer works great in this regard. I have found it to quickly give me a close shave with no irritation in these areas. The best part is probably that it actually works well wet or dry. My shower has poor lighting, so I can easily miss patches of my blonde hair in the shower. Once I am in better lighting, I can quickly remove this hair with the central part of this trimmer and achieve smooth skin with no irritation. Thick, straight, medium length hair: This trimmer took it off quickly and with no irritation, but not to the level of close shave that I would prefer, and was able to achieve on my areas with the fine blond hair. Even after many repeated strokes, it simply would not get rid of this hair to the degree that it did my finer hair. I would recommend this product here as a way to eliminate winter growth before shaving with an actual razor. It did take the bulk of it off quickly and irritation free. Thick, long, curly hair: If you are short on money, and have time and patience, I would recommend this product. I was able to hack off my winter growth in this area after considerable time and effort. For the price, I consider it worth it. As with my areas of thick straight medium length hair, I could not achieve an entirely close shave regardless of how much time I put in. Nonetheless, I ended up with decent results for little money. I did acquire one nick in this area, but it did not draw blood, and I had none of the irritation that I get from shaving this area. I really like the price, the ability to use it in or out of the shower, the fact that I can usually use it without worrying about irritation let alone painful nicks, and that it is battery operated. The last one might seem like a negative, but I recently lost a way more expensive shaver because I can no longer use the charger to it. If I could change one thing about this trimmer, I would remove the top blade. Not only have I not found a use for that straight blade (as opposed to the slightly curved one on the bottom that seems to get every part of my body better), but it also gets in the way when I am trying to reach certain areas. Overall, I would recommend the bottom portion for removing longer, thicker areas of hair prior to following up with another product, especially if you are on a budget. Additionally, I would recommend the central portion for anyone looking for a close, irritation free shave of shorter fine hair. (It does not seem to work on thicker hair). I would not recommend the top blade to anyone, and wish that they would remove it.

Smooth Shave, Easy to Use, and Gentle on Skin
I’ve been really impressed with this women’s electric shaver. It’s lightweight, comfortable to hold, and the design makes it easy to reach tricky areas without awkward angles. The blades give a close shave without irritating my skin, which is something I usually struggle with when using razors. Perfect for quick touch-ups. The head glides smoothly, and I haven’t had issues with nicks or razor burn. It’s especially gentle on sensitive areas like underarms and bikini line, but still does a good job on legs. Cleaning is simple - the head pops off and can be brushed out easily with the tool provided. It’s not as close as a traditional razor shave, but the trade-off is that it’s much safer and more convenient. For me, it’s perfect for everyday upkeep when I don’t want to deal with shaving cream and razors. Overall, it’s a reliable, well-made shaver that makes grooming quick and painless. Definitely worth it for the convenience and comfort!

Easy to clean, easy to use
I love my little shaver! It does a great job. I haven't struggled with any razor burn or ingrown hairs since starting to use it. It's easy to store and gets the job done. I've have it for a few mo ths and haven't had to change the batteries yet. It is a good shaver that gets the hair as short as possible without using an actual razor. I love how it can be used wet or dry, in or out of the shower. It comes with a little brush the wisk away any hairs from inside and outside of the shaver. It is very easy to take apart and put back together for cleaning. Definitely recommend!

Not good “FOR ME”
It works but when disassembling it for cleaning is not so straightforward. If you don’t assemble it well it will tug on your hair and it will cut you. I give 3 stars because it works and it’s light, blade size okay but i will not buy it again, i even threw it in the trash today because it also broke so it did not last long.

Great for pre teens just starting to shave
My 11 year old daughter wanted to do something about her leg hair, but was not ready for a normal (adult) leg razor. This Phillips shaver works great for her. She uses it about once a week for her needs/amount of hair growth. First, she uses the end/trimmer part on either side to go over her longer leg hair. Then, she finishes by using the middle foil/larger flat shaver. She goes slow & steady & has not had any pulling or cuts. No razor burn as of yet. She uses it dry, with parent supervision. She has not used it wet or in the shower. It came with 2 starter batteries. She’s only used it twice so far- so I cannot say how long batteries last. I also looked at purchasing a different “re-chargeable razor” - but ultimately the price point of this Phillips razor & ease of use for a child was what won me over. I’m ok with replacing the batteries a few times until she is comfortable trying a different razor. The battery cover was hard to pull down at first- but I realized I needed to grasp it at the 3 lines on both sides, then pull down firmly. It was difficult for me to read inside the battery well which side is positive/negative… had to use my daughters young eyes to read! One battery goes one way and the other flips the other direction, which was not obvious or easy to see imprinted in the razor. Battery strength of provided batteries was perfect. I would recommend this, especially for preteens just learning how to address their body hair. My little girl is much more confident starting the school year off with less obvious leg hair. I’m even considering getting another one for myself for travel & quick touch ups.

Experienced Dry Shaver Says YES!
This was my first time using an electric shaver by Phillips and I'm impressed! Pros: Great on sensitive, angled areas Works well on dry skin (not yet used on wet skin as of this review date) Performs well on thicker, course hair Ideal for short-medium length hairs closer to the skin Easy to disassemble and clean No chords for easy mobility Includes a cover Cons: Easy to misplace, throw away the included cleaning brush (thoroughly inspect the inside packaging) Doesn't come with lubricating oil for the blades Not as close of a shave as a razor Very loud Requires battery changes vs a rechargeable shaver Longer/full length hairs will increase risk of knicks/hair pulling Full Review: I honestly was skeptical of this shaver based on the price, but needed something wallet-friendly. Despite the price point, it delivers on quality! I was in a time crunch and needed to clean up "down there" and under my arms, so I used this straight out of the box and wow! For background: I'm accustomed to exclusively dry shaving with an electric shaver and wet shaving with a bladed razor. **For those who are new to dry shaving or electric shavers--be sure to move slowly, gently and at an angle to get the best results. Also, stretch the skin whenever possible to help the shaver move and capture a closer shave once you've gotten the hair cut down. Please note, I DO NOT recommend using this shaver for long/full length hairs simply because it combines the electric blade and mesh features in one razor head -- longer hairs may be painfully pulled instead of trimmed when using this razor.** That said, this shaver WILL NOT give you the same skin smoothness as a bladed, manual razor. I used it on short-medium, course hair and got great, painless results. If you're looking for a quiet, discreet shaver, this ain't it! It is quite loud, but gets the job done. The top comes apart easily for cleaning--be sure to pull out the mesh/blade portion on the very top and use the small pink buttons on the side to take off the entire head to rinse everything off after using. Keep an eye out for the cleaning brush when unboxing--it's a tiny thing and easy to lose track of. I've only used it once, so I can't comment on the battery life; I would advise getting some rechargeable AA batteries to save money over time. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase and glad I didn't overspend!
