Gaiam mens Lotus Oblong Hoodie, Relaxed Fit, Stretch Heavyweight Terry Material

It was nice and soft. It wasn't as I thought it would be but my son-in-law wanted to get a bigger size so he could use it for layering when it gets cold again. He didn't try it on but put it next to his body to see if it would fit.

My husband has been wearing the Gaiam Men’s Lotus Oblong Hoodie and overall hes really impressed with it. The relaxed fit feels incredibly comfortable and it’s roomy without being sloppy, and the cut gives it a modern, laid-back vibe that works perfectly for casual wear. The heavyweight terry material is a real standout. It feels substantial and warm, great for cooler days or lounging around yet still breathable. It doesn’t feel bulky, just cozy and well-made. The design is simple but attractive, and the oblong/longline style adds a bit of personality compared to a basic hoodie. The hood itself has good coverage, and the stitching and seams seem durable so far. All in all, a very comfortable, well-built hoodie that’s perfect for everyday wear.

The Gaiam brand is well known in fitness, which is what i attribute the price tag to, which is the only reason I give it 4 stars. The sweater/shirt is otherwise great, lightweight, breathable, comfy, well-made with tight stitching, and has deep pockets so items don't fall out. It wouldn't provide much warmth for a cold day, but just another layer on a slightly cooler day.

This hoodie is a bit of an enigma. It’s slim fitting and quite lightweight but at the same time the material is quite dense and capable of keeping in the warmth. Made of 70% cotton, 25% polyester and 5% spandex it’s quite slim fitting and clingy rather than loose and baggy. Different people of different body shapes might want to keep that in mind when choosing. I went with a neutral light gray color as it bends well with most of my other wardrobe which tends toward the blue and black spectrum but this would also work well with reds and greens. The brand is aimed toward the yoga and fitness market and I can see it as a practical partner for those and Tai Chi etc. with the flexibility helped by the spandex complement, allowing a good deal of stretch and durability. As a workout oriented garment it's good to see that it is machine washable. It has two generous pockets but these aren’t zippered so I wouldn’t trust valuable things like my phone or wallet in them, so I think the garment is best kept for different duties rather than an everyday jacket type of hoodie. In all fairness that’s exactly what it seems to be intended for so this is more of an observation than a criticism. Living in Southern California, it’s nice to have something that is light and protective and can do good cross-purpose duties in keeping me warm without being too burdensome. While not a cheap garment, I don’t think it’s too expensive regarding the quality of its fit, finish and seam work. I think the hoodie hits its intended mark and I can recommend it for exactly that.

It's definitely a slim fit. I'm 5'6" 150 pounds and I would describe the medium to fit more like a long sleeve T shirt rather than a sweater or a hoodie. Feels almost uncomfortable to have a t shirt underneath. If I could choose again, I would definitely go with a large instead of a medium. As far as the quality goes, I like the fabric used for this. It has this pleasant texture and is breathable. I included an up close photo because I'm not sure how to describe it but it's not the typical fuzzy material you see on the inside of hoodies.

In a strange twist of fate- i ordered a small but got a 5 pack!!!!!!! BONUS MAN!! Pictured is my man, just 5’4”, slim and muscular. He’s wearing the medium that gives him a little room but looks baggy. I prefer him in the small, as it looks like an athletic fit. The other 3 went to my tall men- all over 6’ and 180-225. The large and xl fit them perfect and the super picky group rocks them constantly! The pockets are a little different, as opposed to a traditional hoodie pouch, but they were all happy with single pockets! Shocked. Black was consistent, just enough stretch to not struggle to put it on, and comfortable enough to wear out or in. Love my me are happy!!

Very thin and long!

I love a relaxed fit hoodie as it allows me to truly do things without feeling suffocated or overly tight, especially in the cooler season. It’s nice to have an extra layer on top that doesn’t get in the way of any sort of exercise or movement. This hoodie definitely has a strange look aesthetically, but I was able to make it work and overall have found it to be an absolute gem for working out and doing yoga. I think it greatly fits the purpose of true athletic wear and has allowed me to continue my workouts when I want that extra layer on overall extremely satisfied with this and would definitely buy another one.
