Works great after replacing the battery, charge controller, and solar panel...
With just the coop light and automatic door, and lighting set to 13 hours, the controller would become unresponsive intermittently, I'm assuming after multiple days of mediocre sunlight to recharge the battery. I replaced the charge controller and battery to a 12Ah AGM SLA and Renogy Wanderer. This completely resolved the charging problems until I added a SnekTek monitor. With the monitor, everything was working properly until the light had to run for more hours as the days got shorter. Eventually the battery was only being charged up to 12.6v and discharging to 11.0v by the next morning. I have since replaced the panel with a 100w unit. The system is now fully charging in the mid fall within 2.5hrs!!! instead of the 8-9hrs during summer with the original panel. I would recommend just buying the door, light, and controller kit, and building out your own solar setup. Otherwise, everything is working great.

Be sure you have lots of direct sunlight
My coop location is next to some trees, so the solar panel did not get enough direct sunlight to keep the battery charged. Everything was working, and the battery charged up from close to empty to full after about 1 1/2 days in full sunlight (with no load on the battery). Tech support said it needs 8-10 hrs of direct sunlight per day to work. Not sure if it needs quite that much, but did not work in my application and I had to return it. Seems like a good product, and should work fine for coops with a good view of the sun.

Wasted my money.
I bought in January to use on a new chicken house. I got sick and because the weather got to cold to finish building the new chicken house the item just sat in the garage for a few months. Finally in the spring when it warm enough to finish building I installed. Results was nothing. Dead. Didn’t work at all and now was to late to return or exchange.
