Hide and Seek (2005)

What a brilliant pairing - a great actor of decades experience (Robert de Niro), with a talented child actor (Dakota Fanning), working off each other in this mystery. It's a joy to watch them working together. Other actors play fairly unimportant roles. Featuring a father and young daughter after the suicide of her mother, the child has an imaginary friend. Not unusual for a child in such circumstances. What makes this one so chilling is its nasty aspect, and the fact it seems to be coming to life. Won't give any spoilers, but this has a tremendous twist that I guarantee you won't see coming. Watched it several times now, and still get a chill each time.

Was happy with hide and seek with subtitles. Would order more dvds if they can put subtitles HOH (hard of hearing) next to the dvds for me (I am deaf as I rely on subtitles) to make it easier for anyone who are deaf or hard of hearing to order the dvds with subtitles. Email was very helpful to tell me the dvd had subtitles.

I'd only seen this once before, and that was a long time ago. So i thought i'd buy it and watch it again. To me its an eerie thriller thats ideal for watching late at night. Dakota is a great actor in this, she might make you feel uneasy in this.

This is a freakin amazing film! I loved it. Despite all of the negative reviews it received I enjoyed it greatly, although I do think it should maybe be an 18 certificate rather than a 15. It was very suspenseful, the twist at the end was genius and the last few scenes were very creepy, almost disturbing. Wonderful performances by Robert Deniro and Dekota Fanning. Very glad I bought this.
