This Airfix 1/72 Spitfire Mk-1 is a really a fine kit of the most iconic aircraft of WWII. The model has recessed panel lines, a nicely detailed cockpit, choice of landing gear up or down, a pilot figure, great clear parts, and beautiful decals. A great kit if you are new to modeling, or if you are an experienced modeler looking for a nice easy and fun model to build. The parts fit is very good- the fuselage will fit together better if you remove the locating pins and. carefully glue the halves together a section at a time. This will save you from a lot of putty work and sanding. A real winner and a great bargain, highly recommended!

This is a great kit to build. Parts went together without a fuss. You'll have to purchase paints and glue separately for this build. However there is a starter set available if you can find one. This is would be a great beginner model. It is small and does have small parts. You can leave the small parts off and still have a great looking model. I definitely recommend this kit.

More complicated than expected but nice.

I've been building models for 40+ years, but until I got my hands on this one I've never built an Airfix kit. I thoroughly enjoyed building this little Spitfire. The parts count isn't high, and there isn't a lot of unnecessary building of smaller parts into bigger parts. The instructions are straightforward and easy to understand. Fit is really good; I was surprised at how well the wing fit to the fuselage. I used just a little bit of filler putty at the front and rear of the wing on the underside of the aircraft. The decals went on beautifully and snuggled right down with a little bit of micro sol. The recessed panel lines are a bit too large, but they don't detract from the kit. All in all, I wouldn't have any issues building this kit again, with a different set of markings.

Great little kit. I remember the old Airfix Spitfire kit fondly, and built a number of them in my youth, but this kit is updated and far more detailed. A nice build, easy, with enough parts and detail for the more discerning modeler and yet simple enough for me to spend a fun time with my 6 year old showing him the joy of building a cool model of a historic airplane. Buy it, you won’t be disappointed.

I just got my model from Amazon prime and I open the package and the model kit its great, is well detailed everything's is nice and crisp no flash and the price is right ,the delivery was excellent it was fast and that's one of the good things about this is Amazon Prime .and at perfect for kids .Airfix is getting better and better what it's model kits and the price is right .security your Rafael Gonzales.

Very thin and doesn’t hold together well

Arrivato nei tempi di consegna, scatola un pò schiacciata me senza danni. Buon kit Airfix ,solo qualche imprecisione nell'assemblaggio tra le ali e la fusoliera, per qualche spazio di troppo, comunque nulla che non si potesse ovviare con stucco e carta abrasiva. Buon divertimento.

This version of the airfix spitfire in 72nd scale is probably airfixes best, separate mold for all the intakes gives great detail and good detail on the cockpit for the scale. Clear parts are decent not the best but pretty good. All the parts have a good fit and require little filler. However I found the cartograph decals a bit thick and took a few passes of solvent to get the larger ones to conform properly. This might be an issue for beginners. But if you have decal solvents it’s no problem. The only big gripe I have is that on the reference they give for the identifier scheme in the bottom of the aircraft (the black and white) it only shows the wings having this scheme when in reality the whole lower of the aircraft had this scheme including the stabilizers, any refrerence picture shows this and I’m not sure how airfix got this wrong. Overall if you do your research and take time with the decals it’s a brilliant 72nd scale spitfire kit probably the best in this price range. Only having Edward or tamiya models be better out of the box but those kits usually run more than double the price. Can’t really go wrong for the price!

Nice crisp mouldings, nice transfers, I look forward to make a tropical vc for my collection in my retirement!
